Just bought a new Ridgid miter saw stand with the help of a great associate named Bobbo in the tool area. The website indicated that the store had 15 in stock. He took the time to help me locate the stands then got a powered lift to retrieve one from the overhead shelves. He also took the time to figure out why the two different website SKU's (AC9945 and AC9946) kept referring to the same in-store SKU on his in-store handheld device. It was only after he did some further research that we learned Ridgid had upgraded to an "improved" stand and that the best stand for me was going to be the new AC9946. I would highly recommend this store. I go to this Home Depot almost exclusively. Everyone there is so nice and helpful...

PATHETIC! The worst Home Depot store I have ever shopped! First, I needed to rent a truck to deliver some 2x4 studs I was about to purchase to a job nearby. There I encountered, once again, a narcissistic, self absorbed, churl by the name of John. I first encountered this guy about a week ago when I needed to exchange a couple of small items. I didn't like his demeanor then and he certainly sealed that opinion during this visit. I'm not sure WHO or WHAT this guy seems to think he is but he acts as if you (the customer) is an inconvenience to him and that you are in some way "beneath" him as he is NEVER in any hurry to assist nor does he come across as though you even matter to him. It was as if I was an "inconvenience" or a "bother". It's difficult to put your finger directly on a passive-aggressive personality such that John displays. It's very easy for these type of people to simply shrug off the accusations as something they were unaware of (ie. "Oh, I didn't know you were there" or "Well I did what you wanted me to do for you"...begrudgingly). Anyway, I come in yesterday to rent a van. I called ahead and John even acknowledged that fact by asking, "oh, you're the guy who just called right"?. As we were going through the paperwork I realized I had forgotten to bring in my insurance card. So I ran out to my car to retrieve it only to find that the one I had on me was the expired card. However, this was not a problem as I knew I could pull it up on my smart phone. While I'm doing so, a few other customers arrive and need assistance. One of which began to ask John a question to which John remarked, "well, I'll get to you after i'm finished with "this guy" (meaning me). Then he said, "well come down here, I'll take care of you on this (other) register, as if to be saying that because I was taking too long to pull up my insurance information it was my fault that this other guy couldn't readily get the help he needed but that John would go out of his way to help him at another register. I replied and pointed toward the 3 other employees approximately 10 feet away, "why can't one of those folks help him"? Anyway, I'm certain this will not come across the way I'd like it to but I'm saying this guy John has a personality problem. And this was not the first time. AND, THIS wasn't even the REAL problem I'm writing to report to you!!! The REAL PROBLEM came when I went out to start to piece of junk van I was given as it was the only one available at that moment. Just as I started the van, two gentlemen pulled up in a MUCH newer and MUCH nicer van and they even offered it to me as they were there to turn it back in. The fellow apparently KNEW John. I told the fellow as we were walking back up to see John that I didn't believe John would be willing to do the exchange. You see, it was cold and sleeting and snowing so, IF I could use the newer van, not only would I be getting a "better" vehicle, I wouldn't have to wait for it to warm up or have to clear off the ice and snow as their van was already warm from having recently been used. But, I went inside with the gentleman anyway as I had a glimmer of hope that MAYBE....JUST MAYBE he either worked there WITH John or knew John well enough that we MIGHT just be able to do the exchange. So, what do you think happened? JUST as I figured and told the man as we were walking up to the "Rental/Returns" area toward John. John's first words out of his face were words of discouragement, downplay and too much work to do the exchange. So I stood there with the man for a few more minutes, allowing HIM to explain more to John what it was we were HOPING to do and WHY we were asking to do it only to watch John's face and his inaction and his ignorance of the request. After a few minutes I simply stated to John, "hey, if this is going to take awhile and we have to go back through all the credit card stuff again, I'll just take the van that was originally assigned". To which John snapped, "oh, it will...yeah, we'll have to cancel and go through all new paperwork all over again". It was so discouraging. It made me dislike John on a personal level. This guy is a joke! He doesn't belong in a customer service oriented business. And I will NEVER shop this Home Depot ever again! Mostly because of John but also because the store is disheveled, lacking in so many ways and the employees are ALWAYS too busy with their own personal issues that they have little time for things like "Customers". Oh, but we are not done yet... NEXT....I Needed 2x4x8 studs....there were ONLY approximately 70 available, of which ONLY 54 were straight enough to even purchase. As I struggled ALONE to load them onto the cart, several Home Depot employees were right around the corner laughing and joking and apparently having fun while I picked through the small pile of lumber for usable studs. No one offered to help, no one offered to see if there MIGHT be more available elsewhere in the store....they stood by and watched as I struggled to push that loaded cart up to checkout. I passed several other employees on my way to checkout and none of them offered help either. The checkout area was cluttered not only with "store items" but also congested with PEOPLE...HOME DEPOT PEOPLE! It was not a good experience. There was however, ONE saving grace....and that was the TWO young ladies who checked me out at the register...Kay and Sydney. I had a question..."would I get a bulk discount for purchasing a certain amount of 2x4's"? It took a minute to get the answer but, Sydney first went above and beyond to care enough to FIND someone who might know the answer THEN, Kay got on the walkie and got the answer. Although it wasn't the answer I wanted, I DID get an answer. AND, Kay also reset the time on my truck rental as it took me nearly a half hour to get those 54 sticks of lumber loaded to my cart, pushed to the counter and paid for. Otherwise, John would have most certainly tried to charge me an additional fee for time which I didn't actually use the van but instead, struggled to obtain those last few sticks of lumber the store had left. However, that "nice moment" was so short lived as I went to retrieve the van, I came back in and began to push my cart load of lumber toward the door only to be accosted by the "security lady" asking for my receipt which, she had just stood there and watched me receive from Sydney. I didn't complain but, I had to stop my momentum with the heavy cart, pull out my wallet and show her my receipt before I could leave the store. Then, with a minimum of 8 onlookers watching me push this heavy cart toward the door, with the metal "hump" in my path, about a dozen or so sticks fell from my cart as I pushed the cart over the metal door seam, all over the wet ground, just behind the van I was about to load them onto....and not a soul except for one older gentleman who happened to be another customer, even bothered to help. Thank you for such a wonderful experience you bunch of....well, people I personally wouldn't hire to boil water. Worthless, uncaring, no sense of "customer service" whatsoever! It was the pits on top of an already crappy day due to the wet, sleeting, cold weather. I take pride in my work and what I do as a professional contractor. Without MY customers, I have NO business! It doesn't mean that "the customer is always right" however, it DOES mean that I SHOULD at the very least, strive to make sure my customers feel that their money was well spent. That mentality does not exist among the majority of employees I've encountered at THIS particular Home Depot Store. It upsets me not only because it goes against everything I personally believe Customer Service means but because I'M spending MY money with YOU, NOT the other way around. I don't expect people to grovel at my feet or even necessarily know what they are doing at all times. But I DO expect to be treated like MY business DOES matter and IS appreciated because I COULD have gone elsewhere. I will NOT shop this store EVER again!

Store is smaller, I assume, due to being a "lower volume" store however, Home Depot is Home Depot and is my FAVORITE home improvement store of all! Selection is ALWAYS great, prices are always great and MOST of the time, the employees are friendly and often go out their way to assist you (especially when you are walking around with that confused look that says, "now where the heck are the ...." . However, I've been filling out surveys now for several years (since they started) and have YET to either win myself or even KNOW of ANYONE else to have won the $5000 giveaway. Be honest, does it REALLY exist?
