WEAR YOUR MASKS PROPERLY. OVER BOTH NOSE AND MOUTH. Multiple floor associates flouted the Home Depot mask policy. I was unable to get the needed assistance from the floor associates as I work with a vulnerable population. The associates at the self checkout were all wearing their masks over both nose and mouth. Thank you for allowing me to purchase the few items I was able to pick up without assistance.

In the midst of the worst death rate of this pandemic (mid-December), the store employees refused to do anything about a customer wandering the aisles with no face covering at all. They said the management doesn't want to cause a problem. Fine -- Let's not shop there, so they won't have to worry about any problems at all.

I’m 2,300 mi away in Lexington, KY Christmas shopping for a hard to find Dewalt tool kit for my son who’s working in Hood River. My initial call to Cliff resulted in the system showing 2 in stock but a physical search showed none. I received a call back 4 hrs later and the store manager had found the kit I was looking for. Thanks Cliff and the manager on duty (12/9) for helping mom & dad complete Xmas for their son far far away!! The Dalles Home Depot’s customer service is #1!

The employees are always friendly and helpful. If they do not have what I need in stock, they order it.

Love going for my needs. I really do spend a lot of time there. Great to go with my grown son as he has projects going on his new home.

Nicest Home Depot. Serves a lot of rural Folks in our communities on both sides of the Columbia Gorge and beyond. I do honor my ma and pa hardware store too, but they cannot always provide me with the stock of supplies I need. All the employees are small town friendly for a such a big box store.

Vast majority of the employees seem like they don't want to be working there. Impossible to find any employee to ask questions to or find help in locating an item to purchase. When you do track down an employee they are usually 5 or 6 aisles over and act rude and inconvenienced when you request their help. Customer service lady has ZERO customer service skills, never smiles, and generally acts like you're a problem if you need customer support. Actually overheard a store manager complaining about another employee not being a "team player." I will say this, Home Depot has amazing corporate policy as far as customer service, pricing, availability of items and resources for learning. Their other stores in Washington and Oregon are full of great employees and are very helpful. This particular one stands out for its poor customer service and general grumpiness/despondency among the staff. There are other hardware stores in The Dalles that these employees could take customer service lessons from. I won't name them but these other hardware stores know who they are and are still in business because of the quality of their employees and customer service.

Oregon State law requires wearing face masks due to COVID-19. This Home Depot apparently does not feel that they need to enforce this rule, which is a courtesy most stores are providing in order to ensure customer safety. Not only are they currently not enforcing the rule, there was an altercation in the store just now where an angry customer decided that not only was he not going to wear a mask, he was going to yell profanities at other customers who asked him to wear one. The store employees actively ignored the issue. When I asked why the issues were being ignored, the store employee that I talked to said she didn't know what the policy was. I will not be shopping at this store any longer.

I first went on-line at Home Depot looking for a new lawnmower and they were all there to compare different brands that they sold.. With that information I went and looked at the store site to see if they had the lawnmower that I wanted which they did. So I drove the 25 miles to the store and went in and found the lawnmower. It was displayed along with their lawnmowers so I was able to see all of them and again able to compare them. I went with the one that I had picked out on-line. When I was ready to get the lawnmower I needed a cart to take it the checkout stand so I went and got one by the time got back there was a employee there and he put the lawnmower on the cart. I will go back to the store again as I have always had good experience at this store.

If you ever need help with appliances, Simon is amazing. He is kind and respectful yet will help with advice to. I have worked with him 2 times and he is the best.

I really appreciate the online purchase/curbside pickup option that is available now. I was able to browse, select, and pay for what I needed online late one evening, then I got the text notification that my order was ready for pickup just about 15 minutes after the store opened the next morning. They have well-marked parking spaces for pickup customers right up close, in front of the store. I called the number on my confirmation notice (it's also helpfully posted at each parking space) and they immediately sent an associate out with my items. I was able to shop and browse at my convenience from home, and this also satisfied my preference not to go inside the store. Smooth and easy - I can continue shopping at Home Depot this way!

Excellent service at time of purchase. Very poor service during the delivery period that took over 2 weeks longer than we were told before we spent our money. I understand we are in a unique time but the urgency to keep my family’s laundry clean not only for their safety but also for the safety of others should have been treated at a higher priority. Any unforeseen delays should have been proactively communicated once they came up verses us having to call several times and wait on the phone after the delivery period came and went a few different times. We were offered many excuses but never an apology or any attempt to make it right. We had the option to buy at other local retailers and had our washer the same day but with the timeline we were given for delivery we felt comfortable waiting a few days for that delivery. Had we known how long it really would have been and how big of a bother we would have been checking in on the different timelines we were given we never would have made that purchase. I was given excellent service on loading it up in my van by a Hispanic employee (didn’t get his name) after the store associate who was burdened with having to get my washer just left it at the door for me to figure it out on my own without saying a word. I also decided to buy my dryer elsewhere after this fiasco. The service I received elsewhere was excellent start to finish.

Your store is always clean and people are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are easy to find and always clean.

The store was clean, well organized and the staff was very helpful. They were friendly, answered our questions and gave advice. Parking was quick and easy, there was no wait in line.

My husband and I have been "rental rennovators and flipping houses" for clients since 2010. We can't remember 1 time this store has let us down. All new staff are so well informed and we love meeting up with the seasoned employees!! One business we can count on you all for materials to keep our business running smooth and efficient! The store is fine and the people are courteous. I will shop here again. I won't be special ordering anything again. The estimated delivery time that you are given seems to have a wide range. When you're expecting something in 4 weeks and then it turns into 6 weeks... how do you schedule around that? HD really needs to do a better job providing good data for people to work with.

i visited the store stressed about a project and left feeling excited and hopeful thanks to the staff— who were incredibly friendly, interested in hearing about my project and brainstormed w/ me to make it possible. michael jackson from the paint department made it his priority to help me pick out the best pieces of wood for my project, fine tune/ cut all 13 pieces of wood i needed sized to the perfect dimensions. so grateful for his time, patience, and experience. they staff were friendly to each other which is refreshing. felt like they were a lil family helping & bantering w/ each other in a way you knew they cared and had each others backs. at one point 4 employees from their departments came together to make sure i was getting the best product for my project. Michael J walked w/ me to collect all the pieces. which saved me a lot of time searching. i left the store feeling confident in my ability to pull this project off. grateful for their professional attitudes and vibrant personalities. made the trip to home depot refreshing!

I had a very positive experience with the prod desk, which is what inspired me to take the time to write this review. Both Janine and Steve, and also Maria, have been quite helpful in assisting me along with my deck project. It was my first experience with the pro desk. I learned a lot from the experience and appreciate their patience and service provided. I will be back for my next project. I've also greatly appreciated the service I've generally received at the returns desks. It's so helpful to be able to pretty easily return materials that I overbought or items I ended up not needing. I would also like to add that I've generally had good experiences with online order pickups. And, lastly, the cashiers are almost always quite friendly, patient, and helpful.
