    Very Nice Remote..
I like it that you can see what fan speed your on, the light button works great too even when dimming / But only if you brands like " ( Cree, Philips, Sylvania, ) Those I found to work , had to exchange those Eco Smart Brand "dimmable" bulbs because they flicker & hum like a bee when using the remote , " Not All Led Bulbs Are Created Equal" Even When They Say Dimmable same with some remotes, some will only work with CFL's or standard bulbs, or Both CFL, led, or standard. THIS ONE HAS IT ALL
Full of features, yet compact enough to fit into small canopies. The Hampton Bay Universal Ceiling Fan Thermostatic Remote installation instructions are easy to follow; tun off the power, insert receiver, reconnect the wires, rep[lace canopy enjoy the options. It took me longer to explore remote options, than it did to install the receiver. One of the less prominent features is the light dimmer - you can actually turn off the dimmer function a must have if your fan uses "non-dimmable" bulbs.

    great remote control replacement
This remote replaces one over 10 years old that finally failed. Since they were from the same manufacturer, I didn't have to replace the receiver in the fan, the new remote worked with the old receiver. Put the battery in and bingo, it works!

    Nice simple remote
If you are a DYI'er then this is straight forward simple to install. If you can follow directions, you can install this as well. I had CFL lights on my fan and can't dim the lights, but the remote has a dip switch that gives you the option of using it for non-dimmable bulbs or for dimmable bulbs. I can't give it a reliability grade just yet because I just installed it last week (5-5-16), but so far so good. See the pictures for final installation - FYI: I painted the blades to match my 6 yr. old ... read more son's room decor/color (original fan blades are white).

    Fixed Broken Remote
I had the Hampton Bay fan from Home Depot for over a decade. The remote buttons for the fan finally broke. I was not sure about the replacement, so took it apart, cleaned the dust off the back of the buttons, and polished up the electrical contacts with a pencil eraser. Works perfect now. Hope this helps.

    Remote Control for Ceiling Fan
At first I was put off by the small font instructions. Upon closer inspection (magnifiers) it was not difficult to follow. First, I set the code on the transmitter and remote and then installed the battery. The next part involved removing the fan base and sliding the transmitter before the ball mechanism. Pull your wires out before you insert the transmitter. My space was very tight. Connect the wires and ta da -you have a functioning remote. Cool.

    nice addition
Once you have a ceiling fan remote it becomes a must have for all ceiling fans. I got a Hampton Bay fan on sale and decided to install this remote. Once installed, not too difficult, but takes some time and always helps to read the directions. Features include 3 speed fan contol - on, off, dim. Use LED, CFL, or regular light bulbs. I like the walk away feature so you have some light while leaving the room.

Worked well in a flush mounted Ceiling Fan
What I found interesting was it fit into a pocket on my Hunter Fan like it was made just for it even thou it was made by GE

    PERFECT REPLACEMENT
As soon as the battery was installed it instantly worked with our ceiling fan without having to adjust any wires etc in the fan itself. We have an Emerson fan, we are extremely satisfied with this product!

    Remote for ceiling fan
I like the idea of a remote and not having pull cords hanging down from the fan. Works wonderful and the fact that the light remote is adjustable is great too. No need to keep the light on bright all of the time.

    LED Dimmer Switch
Overall, I am very pleased with the dimmer switch except for one thing. Installation instructions online do not say that the switch must have separate wiring for low density wires which connect each light to another. My technician had to call the manufacturer for instructions. Otherwise, I would recommend this switch to others--it has good appearance and works wonderfully.

Works well with the TLED trouffer
Bought and installed this dimmer to use with the TLED trouffers. Works as expected and installation was standard. Two things for consumers to be aware of that I learned after purchase 1. Any 0-10v DC Dimmer will work with the TLED trouffers (these are dimmers usually used to dim dimmable fluorecent ballasts) I mention this because it is possible to find these for a lower cost than I paid for this dimmer on homedepot.com . 2. You either need to run 4-wire feed wire to the lights or do like I did ... read more and run a seperate "control wire". I ran 12-2 MC for power and a seperate 16-2 "control wire " for the low voltage (the dimmer uses these extra wires to dim the lights). Just wanted people to be aware that this dimmer does not work like ones they may be used to in their house.

WORKED GREAT...SOLVED THE DIMMING PROBLEM WITH LED LIGHTS
IF YOU BOUGHT THE LED 2X2 GRID LIGHTS, THIS IS THE ONLY PRODUCT THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO DIM THE LIGHTS. I TRIED 4 OTHER SWITCHES AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE LOW VOLTAGE/HIGH VOLTAGE OPTION

Works well with my fan, much easier than getting out of bed to reach the chains.
All the features (HI, MED, LOW & Light) work great - the only problem is the dimmer on the light - I can't seem to stop it on the brightest setting as it cycles through from dim to bright. Overall, I am very pleased with it.

REMOTE FAN CONTROL REQUIRED TO OPERATE CEILING FAN IN 20-FOOT CEILING, OTHER THAN OFF AND ON SWITCH
Due to builder's lack of interest and cost savings, I was required to buy a remote control for the ceiling fan in our new home's great room, which has a 20' ceiling. Home Depot came thru, much faster than the actual supplier of the fan. Works like a dream and I use it every time the builder drops by.

    Efficient and reliable
I was replacing a previous remote that had ceased to function efficiently. Once I located this item, it was easy to instal and it works well.

    Perfect Ceiling Fan Add-On
I have been installing the ceiling fans with remotes for over ten years and this is as simple as it gets. The remote box goes in the base of the fan and easily connects between the fan wires and the house wires without issue. The remote is small and has the basic controls. Overall I do prefer the more full featured larger remotes that take a standard 9 volt battery, but if you are looking for a night stand control that does not take up much room, this is the one to get. My only issue was that ... read more the new remote was not compatible with an older 10 year old fan as I had to replace a broken controller and the unit that goes in the base also needed to be swapped out. Just matching the codes did not let me get away with only using the new remote with the old base unit. Not a major issue, but good to know when you do an upgrade. I will probably buy another for my other bedroom.

Basic fan remote with some wiring limitations
This is a remote control to use with your ceiling fan. It works well for what it does. It has two buttons on the remote - one for the fan, one for the light. The receiver is designed to fit inside the second shelf of a Hampton Bay canopy. It's shape is such that it will slide into the shelf and fit within the bell shape of the fan canopy. I do not have a Hampton Bay fan, so I wired it up and just layed it inside the canopy. I was not a huge fan of just letting it rest on the wires inside the ... read more canopy, but I did not have much other choice. The package contains everything necessary to make it work - including the battery for the transmitter. The code can be set on the transmitter and receiver using dipswitches, reducing potential interference with other devices. Wiring it up was relatively easy and the transmitter works well. It probably took me 30 to 45 minutes to install. It's a "universal" device, so it's designed to work with as many fans as possible. To that end, it is designed for a ceiling fan wired from a single wire / switch that controls power to both the fan and light. The receiver has a hot and return wire on one side, and two hots and two returns on the remote side. It's designed to control / power both the light and fan from one wire / switch. I have two wall switches for my fan - one for the light, one for the fan. I only really cared about the fan, not the light, so I did not use the lighting wires.

    very useful
I put in a remote control gas log fireplace. The heat goes to the cathedral ceiling. Too much heat is up at the ceiling before it can be felt were it is needed near the floor. I put in the ceiling fan remote control and I don't have to get up to turn the ceiling fan on or off when the logs are on or off. The rest of the year when I need the fan I don't have to get up to turn the fan on or off. I don't have a light on the fan but if there were it would be nice to control it from were I am.

I am very satisfied with the way it works.
I am pleased that the unit is well suited to its purpose and that it has the ability to dim as well as adjust the fan speeds. I have had another one identical to this one over the kitchen table for four years and it gets daily use. The fan gets daily use in the summer months too. Not a single problem. The new remote will be for a bedroom ceiling fan. I expect good results. So far everything is good.
