Rugged and Versatile
This Milwaukee Sawzall 9” blade 10-pk is a good deal for a very rugged blade. The “Tough Neck” tang is supposedly the strong point of the blade, but I like the blades' constant width – it adds rigidity and makes blade-bending less likely. The 18 TPI blade is great for cutting metal, but it makes for slower cuts in wood. The 9” length makes the blade very flexible too, so it vibrates back and forth a great deal when making cuts on narrow stock. I cut through a 1/2” aluminum rod in just a few

seconds, but the end of the blade vibrated at least 2” at it's tip. Still, after cutting the rod, a few nails, some 2x2” lumber, and a 1/16” steel protection plate, the teeth looked and felt just as sharp as new (though the white “paint” on the blade was blemished). I like this as a high-end demolition blade when lots of nails are present and speed is not a concern, or when metal is the primary material to be cut, but it's overkill for the average DIY demolition or remodeling project. I think some tradesmen and fire/rescue workers would find it perfect - strong and cost-effective. Given it's durability I suspect the 10 pk will last the rest of my DIY career.
