What types of tools and equipment does The Home Depot repair?

We repair a wide range of outdoor handheld and power tools and equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge clippers, tillers and cultivators, chippers/shredders, chain saws, snow blowers and generators. 

We can also fix many other common DIY and home improvement tools and accessories like batteries/chargers, drills, miter saws, nailers, compressors, concrete saws, tile saws, table saws, RLC, welders and other corded tools. You can also bring in painting and resurfacing tool such as paint sprayers and gas pressure washers for repair.


What types of tools and equipment does The Home Depot not repair?

We do not repair certain flood and disaster cleanup equipment like vacuums, wet/dry vacs, dehumidifiers and fans, or some plumbing-related tools like drain snakes, hot tubs and accessories, sump pumps and bathtubs. We also do not work on products such as electric fireplaces, space heaters, grills or torches. We do not fix a few other miscellaneous items including garage door and gate openers, radios, air conditioners, electric pressure washers, laser levels and certain tools like powder actuated ramset guns, impact tools and Dremel tools.

Can I take a broken tool to any The Home Depot store for repair?

Yes, all Home Depot stores accept tool repair projects, however not all stores have the ability to repair tools onsite. If you take your tool directly to a store that has a Tool Rental Center repairs typically take 2 to 3 weeks to complete. If the store does not have a Tool Repair Center your tool will be shipped to an offsite


What types of repairs are not covered by a warranty?

Common examples of repairs not covered by warranty include, but are not limited to:

  • Damage caused by stale fuel or improper fuel mix
  • Parts that fail due to wear and tear (blades, spark plugs, belts, brushes, valves, etc.)
  • Damage caused by improper lubrication
  • Tools broken due to abuse or neglect of repair

*Covers evaluation labor and supplies at drop off. Note: If the entire repair is covered under warranty, the $18.95 will be refunded at time of pickup.
