I love the smell of a hardware store when I first walk in. Brings back childhood memories of my granddad building their house that my mother and father now live in. The employees were very helpful and nice.

If you want to support HD like I used to, just go to the 280 store. Or to Irondale, it's just as good if you're up for a drive. The floor staff at Hoover are unfriendly at best. The only good experience you will have here is with the cashiers, which is just sad. Every single time I make the decision to go to the conveniently close HD instead of Lowe's, I am disappointed. I've done my time in a retail job, I don't expect employees to fall at my feet as a customer or to even seek me out. I'm not one of those "customers are always right" believers. But there are times when Google has bested me and I need a person to ask about something wrong in my home, this is why I come in a hardware store. Each instance I've come to this store with my questions an employee has made me feel bad for asking, as if how dare I need their assistance. The first time was with paint, I asked if a certain primer would work and the employee answered in such a snarky tone. The next three times were in hardware, either the employees bolted the moment they thought they saw a customer with a question or they acted like I was wasting their time. Today I was finally over it after an associate in electrical was just plain rude to me in front of another customer when I asked about a bulb. You don't need to be forced "retail enthusiastic" but you don't have to act like you have better places to be. I know you have better places to be, shockingly enough so do I, but I came in with a question and you're being paid to help me find an answer to it. Nothing will change with the feel of this store, just take your money to another HD or to even Lowes. I've been trying with it a little over a year now with no change in the cold atmosphere. After today I know I won't be back, I'll drive the extra ten minutes to Lowes. My money isn't enough to bother a big name company like this, but I wanted it to known that my last visit here was just as awful as the rest. As far as the review: I found the products by myself don't expect the employees to help; the assistance at this store is a joke; the store was most certainly clean; and the only friendly and helpful associates are the cashiers.

Everyone at this store is always so helpful! The associates that assisted me went above and beyond.

Very convenient shopping and easy returns

First, this is the cleanest Home Depot I have ever visited. Normally that is something that I would not notice but as I looked around I did not see any of the dirt or debris you typically see in a big box hardware store. I was impressed. Additionally, Mike, Jackie and another employee who name I missed were all very helpful in assisting me in finding the items I needed, walking me to them and discussing the merits of each, answering questions and making sure my check out was smooth and easy. I will be back, soon.

I really liked shopping here. I must admit, I was a little overwhelmed with all the choices there were for yard products, but there were very help staff around who helped me make the right decision.

7:30 a.m. is a good time to visit the Hoover Home Depot. I received immediate and cheerful assistance at the customer service desk (had to exchange a couple of air filters for the correct size) and was out the door again in no time after using the self checkout kiosk.

Staff is very helpful and if they can't help you they find an employee that can.

I've lived in the area along time, it used to be a challenge looking for help in Home Depot, so we would usually go to another competitor. But lately they have done some house cleaning and it a much more helpful and friendly atmosphere. Keep doing what your doing it's working!

I've shopped at this store my entire life but am very close to switching over to Lowe's. Bottom line: it's impossible to shop for lumber, plywood, etc. when there're 30 carts full of 16 foot lumber blocking everything. Yall are basically giving the middle finger to all in store shoppers.

I think the Home Depot in Hoover, AL is the best in Alabama. I have shopped there ans spent tens of thousands for the past 15 years, and it has been a very satisfying experience.

I made two purchases above $1000 and was never offered a credit card that would have given me an additional $100 off my purchase. my refrigerator failed to work after only a few hours of having it! The customer service(s) rep was extremely rude (bad experience) And I lost a lot of food and the consumer rep was very nonchalant about "My" loss. I'm very disappointed in the company

The store was clean. What I was looking for was easy to find. I was able to get assistance from a friendly associate.

I enjoyed shopping at this location. I enjoyed the way the employees communicated with each other as well as the customer.

In the process of renovating a home. I found the staff to be knowledgeable in answering my questions. The gave the pros and cons when comparing products based on our needs. I will shop here again
