After purchasing a Rheem hot water heater on last month, I was back (Wednesday Dec 7, 2016) at the Home Depot on Port Washington Rd, with another basement water problem. This time it was one of those rubber hoses coming off my furnace, the final one that lies on the basement floor and goes to the drain. It had a big tear in it (another story) and was causing a big water problem over a large area of the basement floor. I wasn’t that hopeful, but I wanted to see if I could solve this water problem myself. Well, I met Brian in aisle 2 (painting) and he had an answer to my problem. He made a little protective barrier for that portion of the hose and showed me what materials I needed to stop (repair) the leak. I went home and promptly did everything he had shown and told me. It worked!! Now it’s almost midnight, I went back down to the basement and it’s still DRY! Long story short, I just wanted to tell someone how happy Brian made me today in helping me solve this water problem in my basement. I could have gone to the Home Depot nearest (Grafton) my home, but I found that at the Port Washington Rd. store, I can usually find an older person who really knows what he is doing and is also willing to take out some time to help me. Brian had a kind helpful spirit and was sincerely interested in helping me. It warmed my heart and I was very, very appreciative of his approach. His kind interest was worth volumes to me and it help in reducing my worry anxiety about the possibility of solving this problem. Therefore Sir, if you have an employee of the year award, then I would like to recommend and nominate Brian (PAINT), for he was a lifesaver for me today. In addition, special kudos to Mr. Lloyd in the plumbing department (hot water heater) and Taylor, the young lady at the front desk. But my all-time hero has to be Brian (paint) because of his depth of interest in helping me today. Great store, good people!! I am still partial to the: “You can do it. We can Help”! Jackie

Every time I shop at Homedepot I always have a positive shopping experience. The staff will take you to the area you're going too and will help you find the item you're looking for and If they can't help you they'll get someone who can. I wish other places had staff members like you all have.

A big Kudos to Telichia in the Tool Rental Department. I am a regular in the store for various reasons, but hands down I return every time because of the Employees and my experience with Telicia reconfirms my commitment to this location. I came in last night to rent a drain snake and after telling Telichia about my current situation and the tools I already own she advised me of my options and helped me make the decision on which would be the best option for me. Telicia support didn't stop there. When a customer "Rick the master plumber" shared his views of a women's inability to use the tool we selected and would mess things up. Telichia (and I) spoke up and she reassured "Rick the plumber" I was capable. Woman or not, in a business suit or not. She patiently trained me on using the tool and I was able to free the pipe with ease. I Heart My Home depot!! and I heart My Home Depot Associates... ;-) Keep up the great work !!

Customers continually came into the kitchen designer area looking for help in kitchen or plumbing or some other topic. Someone was either paged to assist or an available staff provided information.

Employees in the kitchen cabinet department seem to think they are some sort of elitist home decor geniuses that float above mere mortal shoppers. It's hard to get them to focus and answer your nuts and bolts questions or to order a few cabinets. They seem to have forgotten they work in a home improvement store and they are there to move product. Answers like "well, we're really more of a contractor store..." are not acceptable. When a home owner/remodeler wants to order just a few ready-made items and you have to bring in the part numbers yourself because the employees can't be bothered looking it up....thats a problem.
