Customer Questions & Answers

what grade is this stud

Asked by: Webbman

How much does it cost for a whole shipment of 2x4

I need an estimate cost. How do I find that out? In person, phone, or email?
Asked by: Nancy
This is a question you should call your local Home Depot center for. The section of asking question usually goes out to other customers to answer. Your local store is where you need to get this answered.

How much does it cost to cut the wood?

Asked by: Nadacol
They will cut the wood free, but you only get one or two cuts per piece of wood. To make sure call your store to confirm. I know there is a limit and not sure if it's per piece of wood or per customer.

how much weight can a 2" x 6" joist 10' long safely carry?

Asked by: TBaby
This is a question that is very hard to answer. Most of the yellow pine lumber I have seen at the Home Depot stores have defects in them and by that I mean knots, warps, and gouges of wood missing. I usually have to go through a lot of the stack to find ones worth using. That being said that is what makes it hard to answer your question. Depending on how bad the defect and less it will hold and to find a perfect one I still haven't. I checked the Internet for a any chart showing the strength for yellow pine. I couldn't find one that had yellow pine in it's list. Maybe if you did some searching you might find what your looking for there.

Customer Reviews

2 in. x 4 in. x 96 in. Yellow Pine Kiln-Dried Stud is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product worked well with my project and would use it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Measure and measure again. Double check the lengths when buying these at the store. These are the same price as the 92 5/8" studs. My local Home Depot had the shorter studs marked as these 96" long studs. I should have checked them myself, but I was in a hurry. Didn't find out my mistake until I was three quarters of the way through my cut list for a workbench and discovered I was short.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has defects You will need to go through the stack to find ones that you like. They defiantly don't look like the picture they are using for this product. A lot of them had defects or warped. For what I was going to use them for the defects weren't a big deal. For the price they worked fine for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works good Lots of knots and a bit crooked but was useable nice heavier weight. works good if you are cutting them down.
