6 in. x 6 in. x 12 ft. #2 Pressure-Treated Timber is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from 6X6 PT Posts When customers order online; we are trusting the HD workers to pick "good" pieces of lumber and cull the ones that should be removed from the shelf instead of bundling those with the order. These post are not cheap and I expect to get ones without 2-3 inch deep by 3' long gouges out of the corners.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't order them for delivery! I ordered 3 of the 6x6x12 timbers along with a lot of 8x8 ,6x6 ,and 2x4 pressure treated lumber. Everything delivered wag great except the three 6x6x12s. They are filthy with corners torn off and large gouges in them. I needed them to make six 6x6x 4 1/2 deck railing posts. There is not enough good lumber in them to get that done. On the Home Depot web site they state that each piece is selected for appearance. The examples I we we sent was awful ! Now I have to try to get Home Depot to send me replacements and if they don't send replacements I will have to find a way to return them my self . Something that will be really hard which is the reason I ordered them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Twisted and cracked Carefully selected and purchased four 6x6x16 to build a tower to anchor a play set I'm building. Sunk 40 inches, after a few weeks, two of the posts are twisted an estimated 8-10 degrees at the top. Additionally, all four are exhibiting pretty significant linear cracks; some as wide as 1/4 inch and well over 12 inches in length. This is an extremely "overbuilt" project, so with that in mind, I'm sure it's still more than adequate in the strength and stability departments, it's still very disconcerting to look at it less than three months in and see this level of deterioration. I have no idea what it will look like next summer, but the idea of having to replace those vertical posts is pretty stressful - especially since I'm about to build a roof over it!
