I stained my deck this summer with this product. It was a lot of work as I used the cleaner, the stripper and gave it a sand bit I am very pleased with the results. Yes I would recommend it. I used some other brand of stain before but it started to peel off the a few months after but not the Behr.

First I want to say I followed all the preparation instructions to the letter. I cleaned the deck twice with proper deck cleaner let the deck dry for a day before applying Behr Premium Weather Proofing as per the instructions on the can.
I applied it in August of 2013 and it looked amazing but once the snow melted in April the deck looked terrible peeling everywhere except under our deck box where the snow didn't touch it.
I have used the Behr water proofing before and loved it but I bought premium instead because they didn't have the colour we wanted in the water proofing.
Behr Premium Weather Proofing seemed like it didn't penetrate the wood where as the cheaper Behr Water Proofing was more of a oil stain that penetrated the wood and wore more evenly over a few years.
After reading the reviews it seems to work fine in warmer climates in the southern United States but in Canada and northern States the reviews aren't good.
I would not buy this product if you live anywhere that you have snow for several months over the winter.

In the summer of 2012 used the product on two large decks and a 25 foot wooden bridge on our property. Preparation took three days and applying two coats, two more days. Loved the look when finished. Looked good last summer, and over this winter but this spring it began to flake off in strips about one inch wide and two to five inches long. Now 95+ percent of the deck looks good but about 5% looks terrible as the product came off right down to the bare wood. I am uncertain as to how to fix the problem at this point.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jackie Product Performed as stated by Behr on the Instructions
After reading many of the reviews for this product, I was a bit skeptical to try it. I have experienced just about all the deck finishes out there, and not one really satisfied me with it's color and/or results. I do agree with most, the color in the can is usually different once applied to your decking. And usually not for the better either. So, do a small sample first.
The key here is the prep work. You MUST use the Stain/Stripper Remove with a pressure washer regardless of what you may think is on your deck. It makes a huge difference once you apply the stain/paint/ or clear waterproofer. Takes a little longer to do, but you will be glad you did. Once that is done, apply the Deck Cleaner/Brightner Product. This also neautrilzes the wood and allows it to accept the stain. You can actually hose this solution off with a regular garden hose if you do not have a pressure washer. And if using the pressure washer, just cut back on the flow coming from the wand. Allow to dry for at least 24 hrs. of fairly warm weather before applying the stain.
Apply the Stain using a 4" Oil Brush. Yes, a brush...I know, takes longer but you can get into all the spaces between the boards and it penetrates into the wood better. They sell brush holders in which you can attach to a painting extenstion pole to help make it easier, so you are not on your knees the entire project. Easier on the back too. :)
Once the stain is applied, allow the entire 72 hours for curing as the instructions state. This is a must!! If not, you will feel that tacky feeling under your feet. Also, the weather has to be perfect for at least 3 days. 60 - 80 degrees seems to be best. I only applied one coat to my deck, and it is 15 yrs. old and looks brand new now. No need to apply a second coat. Usually the second coat ruins it anyway. Just does not absorb into the wood and sits on top making it a complete tacky mess that never seems to dry.
I also had mine tinted to the Honey Gold color and it turned out beautifully. So, take the time to prep your deck right, and I think you will find the product does work acccording to the manufacturer's specs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Good product, but, way over priced at $35.00 per gallon. That is outrageous.
This water based fence/deck sealer performs well; however, your price of $35.00 per gallon for a product that at best costs $2 a gallon to manufacturer is outrageous. All your paint products need a major reduction in sales price if you want anyone to be able to afford any of them. It performs well and is easy to apply, and it looks good when dry. But, make it much more affordable in price, and you will sell many more units of it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Persistent Stain on mahogany deck
Last year I had a new deck built using mahogany for the decking. (half the deck is covered)The previous deck had been severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. My contractor applied Behr #500 Natural. Unfortunately this past winter was extreme and took a toll on the exposed decking. The original application looked terrific when new but I suspect a combination of the very dense mahogany and spotty mill glaze limited optimal product performance. In order to match the undamaged finish under the covered section of the deck I decided to use the same Behr #500 but with extra effort put in to preparation.
For prep I power washed and sanded. I applied the stain using a brush.
The stain went on easy with few drips. The odor was extremely low. Coverage was exceptional. (A good value) It was dry to the touch in only a few hours (60 degrees & sunny). Clean-up was easy.
Behr indicates a 4/6 yr. guarantee( decking/fencing) so time will tell. So far so good..

A good water base paint for any type of wood, chocolate color is beautiful on interior door and stair handles. Easy to clean on floor or hands.
Hope to see more in stock in PR stores for future projects.
I really like the door looks now.
