I honestly didn't think this product would work on my deck. The wood was dry, dark grey, filthy -- the wood looked sad and dead. I swept and rinsed my deck, then applied the product liberally with a pump sprayer. I diluted the cleaner 2:1. I allowed it to stay on the deck for 15-20 minutes before scrubbing it with a stiff deck/pool brush. The grime and dirt lifted relatively easily considering the wood hasn't been cleaned in just over 6 years. I rinsed and did it all over again. The result was bright, beautiful, new-looking wood. I'm very happy with the results.
The only slight downer is: you really have to rinse a lot. I had to rinse forever to get the small bubbles/suds to disappear completely. The product really gets into the wood. After allowing the wood to dry overnight, I could still see areas where the cleaner still appears to be on the wood. I will rinse again and allow it to dry for 48 hrs before applying the stain/sealer.

Our 22 year old deck hadn't been cleaned in over 12 years and I was pretty much resigned to having to rip up all that wood and replace it. I decided to give this Behr Premium Wood Cleaner a shot and as you can see in my photos, this stuff really gets the job done. Although the directions indicate to use this stuff full strength on tough jobs like mine, I did dilute it 1 qt water to 3 qt Cleaner, and applied it with a pump sprayer. Let it sit for 15 minutes and used a scrub brush to work the crud off with. I rinsed the deck with my hose, then scrubbed it again. Final spray rinse with my hose, let it dry, and my deck looks amazing. Wife's pretty happy too!!! Buy this stuff, it really does work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by asarge WOW!! Awesome product!
We have undertaklen to stain and rehab out deck a bit. We had not cleaned it in the nine years we have lived here so I was worried the dirt and mildew would be a permanent fixture. We bought no. 63 and went to town and HOLY MILDEW!!! I never thought it would come off like that and we never thought the deck would look almost brand new. Unbelievable product!!
Now to replace nails with screws and choose which Deckover stain to use. In the photo we left the upper right quadrant the way it was before we started the product and the rest is the result and the results are obvious.

I love this product. It worked better than expected and I would definitely buy and use it again. The picture shows what I've done so far and I think the contrast speaks for itself.
What worked for me was I kept the surface wet, not just damp, but wet. I sprayed the diluted cleaner all over and let it set for fifteen minutes. I then used a deck brush and scrubbed vigorously for a few minutes. My deck was so dirty it was hard to tell if it was working until I rinsed it. I was so surprised when I saw what was underneath all the grime. I haven't done the railings yet, so I'm off to do that now.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigE63 Excellent All Around Cleaner!
I love this product, works really well on renewing and refreshing wood fences! I have used this product many times normally with my pressure washer! It performs really well on siding of all types, vinyl, Masonite,Hardie, and aluminum! I apply with my pump sprayer usually mixed 1:1 with water or I'll apply with my suds shooter on the end of my long pressure washer attachment to reach high spots on siding; let it sit for 10minutes and then power off! I also paint houses so this is excellent prep for painting with Behr Marquee! This product also performs fairly well on concrete if I let sit a little longer! Try it out you won't be disappointed!

Used with BEHR Premium 1-gal. Wood Stain and Finish Stripper and BEHR Premium DeckOver 5-gal. Wood and Concrete Paint.
Apparently an important part of refinishing a deck. Stripper and Cleaner did a generally good job of stripping the old finish and removing the old, dirty weathered look of the wood afterward, but both took a whole lot of scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush. Don't expect an easy 'put it on, wash it off' procedure.
The bonding of the new deck finish appears to have been worth the prep work.

After deciding our 20 + year old deck was in serious need of some TLC before painting we checked out Behr's All In One Wood Cleaner. Decided to give it a go. Our technique was pretty straight forward; wet the deck, spray on cleaner, scrub with long handled brush, allow to sit for 15-20 minutes and rinse off.
We used a pressure washer (nozzle held 10-12" from surface) to rinse off the solution.
The results were OUTSTANDING!, couldn't be more pleased. Time and effort well spent.
Give it a try. Your deck couldn't be as nasty as mine was.
Thanks Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by david42 Can't tell the difference
My deck is cedar and only 4 years old. After reading all of the glowing reviews here, I decided to try it. One of the pictures is a section of the deck after being wet-broomed and rinsed; the other was wet-broomed, rinsed, treated with Behr all-in-one cleaner and rinsed. Can you tell the difference? I can't. What a waste of time and money!
