If you purchased this torch kit, return it unopened. If you make the mistake of trying to use it to do work, you will quickly find that the regulators are of the lowest imaginable quality.
When the torch is fresh from the packaging, it can be made to work -- for a while. The trick is to turn the cheap regulators in extremely small, gentle increments. Barely get the pro going, then gently and slowly turn up the oxygen until you get something that looks like a torch flame. Continue with extremely gentle increments to get the right mix of oxy/pro. This torch likes to blow itself out more than it likes to light, so I can't stress enough the need for small, gentle adjustments.
That said, after less than an hour's use (not continuous) I found that the cheap oxy regulator would no longer function properly. No matter how gently I turn it now, no matter how many different bottles I try, the torch will now only pulse and then blow itself out.
I thought this kit would be an economical alternative to a more expensive, small torch rig. I was wrong. When you consider that the low build quality of the item makes it essentially disposable, plus the fact that the oxy bottles are $10/pop, you find that buying this thing is simply not worth it. You might as well roll up sixty dollars, set that on fire, and work with that instead. Chances are the burning roll of money will do the job better and more reliably than this torch.

I'm an advanced DIYer. As others have said, this torch is tricky to get lit and the correct flame. Once I got it going it worked fine. I was frustrated, but for the small job, fixing an AC line it was working. As others said, it ran out of Oxygen fairly quickly. So I drove back to HD an bought another. Screwed the tank on and it was leaking oxy all over! Made sure both valves were shut off (they were). Checked all the lines and fittings. Nothing appeared broken or wrong. Put the oxy tank on again. It continued to leak and before I could find the issue I ran out of oxy. Because of this piece of junk I wasted a trip to HD and $11 on an oxy tank. To finish the job I have to go back to HD again, return it and find an ace/oxy torch or buy another one. Do yourself a favor either buy a ace/oxy torch, borrow from a friend or rent one if you can. This torch is garbage!

I have owned this torch for 5 years. This is a very inexpensive way to get into gas welding and brazing. I have used it to fusion weld small parts using Oxygen and Mapp gas. I have brazed with it using oxygen and propane. It is handy for small jobs and its very portable. There are two negatives. The first is that the Oxygen cylinder doesn't last long. The second is that the cylinders need to be held together. A small frame with velcro to hold the cylinders and a belt clip would be great. I tape the cylinders together after the torch is attached to keep them from rolling or I prop them up in my tool bag. You wont be building trailers with this torch but for small jobs and portability this is hard to beat. I would definitely buy it again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brian Great for melting gold
I initially tried using a MAPP-only torch set, but found I had to heat the gold for a l-o-n-g time. I upgraded to this torch set from Home Depot, and found it easy to get the blue inner flame needed to QUICKLY melt gold, my intended purpose. Quick and easy. I can't comment on the most common torch applications - so take my review with the specificity I intended - great for melting gold.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ctz45 Not bad for small projects
I was skeptical at first because I read the oxy doesn't last but a few minutes so I bought 3 tanks in case. I bought to braze copper it's a little touchy but works like a champ on 7/8 tubing. Tank lasted about 12 minutes and finished project with second tank. If you know how to use a torch you start with gas then add oxy so of course it works without oxy this kit is designed with oxy. They make other kits that are just map and they are not hot enough. Not bad for price if you want longer lasting tanks get the big tanks. Right tool small jobs.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Toolguy Don't Buy This - Oxygen Tank Only Lasts Minutes.
I didn't realize until after buying this that the oxygen tank for this kit is only available in low pressure, which has a very frustrating short lifespan. In my opinion, this kit should not be sold unless a higher pressure oxygen tank is available. Why would anyone sell an oxygen tank that only lasts a few minutes?? On some projects I had to have multiple oxygen tanks for one MAP gas canister - what a pain!
Another downfall of the system is that you cannot use the torch head without the oxygen. That is, if you have both tanks connected and the oxygen tank is empty, you cannot just use the MAP gas. This is a major design flaw. Apparently, the nozzle is not designed to allow MAP gas without the oxygen.

My set was given to me. My backround is a "Multicraft Mechanic" in the oil refinery maintence community(18 years ) These little jewels are for light duty , and small projects, not putting the top back on a vacumn tower. If you are familiar with the real big stuff, like cutting torches and rosebuds, these are no problem. If you've never used a torch of any sort , you're in troouble. Read first, read a lot about adjusting the flame correctly, and how close or far to keep the flame from the work piece. If you can read annd understand what you're reading you'll have no problem. They work for what they are intended for, small and light duty, and yes wire coat hangers work for small light duty gas welding !!!!
