Will ventless dryer put off much hot air into my laundry room?

This question is from IQ-Touch 24 in. 4.0 cu. ft. Electric Dryer in White

My Laundry Room is very small. Since I live in AZ, I am concerned about the ventless dryer putting off a lot of hot air. I have researched several other ventless models, and several reviews note that the room temperature where these dryers sit increases significantly, causing house A/C units to work overtime in attempt to cool that room down.

This is a problem in hot climates. I do see from User Guide that if unit is operated in a small space (i.e. a closet), that the closet doors must remain open during operation, for access to cool air:

" If installed in a closet the dryer will not function correctly with the door in the closed position. This condensation process requires access to cool air from the room. The unit must only be operated with the door in the open position to allow correct air circulation"

I also see this from the manufacturer's product description:

"Ventless, Condensation dryer allows you to have a perfect clean in any space and installation is easy. Eco friendly unit that doesn’t recycle heat from your home."

I'm wondering what the "Eco friendly unit that doesn't recycle heat from your home" really means??

PLEASE HELP! If this unit will heat the room up so there's not sufficient "cool air for correct air circulation", I'm going to be doomed!!

In the few weeks we've had and used our dryer, I would say that the dryer raises the temperature perhaps close to 10 degrees in that room.
This dryer uses a condensation system to dry clothes. If you look at the bottom of the dryer, you'll notice what looks like a grill (perforated holes#. This bottom section is divided in half. The right half of this grill draws the cool room air #sucks air) into the dryer while the left side exhausts air out. The air coming out is warm.
The reason you need to operate this dryer in a somewhat open area is for the incoming air the dryer is drawing in, to be free moving, and not restricted...Such as being in a closet with the doors closed. Doing this will minimize and effect the overall function of the condensation system, plus the dryer will not have any cool room air to draw in, as all that will be available will be the warm exhaust air from the dryer.
Finally, I've really not noticed any fluctuation in how my home's air conditioning functions. It doesn't appear to be running more than usual. The only room, as I've mentioned that gets warmer is where the dryer is in, and that room alone is not enough to kick on our central air...And by warmer, I mean just that...Warmer, not hot, just warmer than the other rooms.
By Eco Friendly not recycling heat from your home, I "think" means removing heat from your home, and replacing / exchanging that heat with the heat from the dryer. The dryer doesn't remove any heat from your home, and the warm air coming out from the dryer is nowhere near enough to act as a heat replenishment for your home.

I've a small laundry room offf the garage. Most homes here have their washer/dryer set up in the garage. My room became hot after using the dryer for an hour. I can vent the room by opening the garage door, but it is bigger than a closet.

Answer:
Hi Rattfink,
A condensation dryer, does not generate heat as it uses cool air to air dry the clothes. The clothes air tumbled and air is blown on them until they are dry.
Thus it will not heat up your laundry room, the biggest problem is how long it will take to dry your clothes.

Answer:
The dryer is stackable. There is a kit for stacking it on the Electrolux washer paired with it. I do not know if you can stack it without the kit, but would suspect any vibration that might move it or the washer could be a problem without a stacking kit. I also do not know if you could stack it on a different brand washer.

Plug Washer Into Dryer?

The stacked washer and dryer that I am replacing (Maytag) allowed me to plug the washer (120v) into the dryer, and then plug the dryer into the 240 volt outlet. Is this the case with this Electrolux set? Or will I need to have an electrician install a new outlet for the washer?

I was sold on the Electrolux IQ-Touch compact duo for my new remodel, but separate circuits add substantially to the electrical on new install. I'd rather put the additional money into the Bosch units rather than my electrician's pocket! Read Less

Answer:
Kiesha, the particular washer model you have linked to your inquiry requires its individual electrical outlet, just as the dryer and companion needs its own outlet as well. Use separately fused circuits for washer and dryer. And do not operate a washer and a dryer on the same circuit. -Best Regards

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than Asko Dryer I replaced an Asko Dryer with this dryer and its companion washer. I prefer that the washer does not plug into the dryer locking me into using the same brand if the dryer fails. This dryer offers the option of either using a removable drawer to empty the condensed water or directly draining the water into a house drain pipe. With the Asko dryer you must drain the water into the house drain pipe. My previous Asko dryer stopped draining within a couple of months so rather than dealing with a repair service who goofed up my Asko washer repair I replaced both appliances with Electrolux. So far no problems so I cannot rate how the repair experience would compare. I actually have more features with the Electrolux pair than I had with the almost new Asko pair at about two thirds of the cost. The Electrolux washer and dryer each weigh less than their Asko counterpart so they are easier to move around for cleaning or installation. Both the Electrolux and Asko washer and dryer fit under a counter-top if you want the counter space or also stack. I am very pleased with my purchase as the distance to vent a dryer would probably quickly cause problems with trapped lint. I do think the lint trap in both brands could be a better design for cleaning. May 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this dryer! I've had this dryer with matching washer for 6 months and love it! It's very efficient, the reverse drying leaves clothes untangled and I wrinkled. Highly recommend! April 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I bought this dryer in July 2015 and it is my first condensation dryer. It's taken a while to figure out what setting works for each load. I live in an apartment and the room gets very warm when the dryer is operating, but I like not having to vent to the outdoors. May 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mine came without the drain kit, so that the water from the drying cloths accumulated in the reservoir on the time and had to be manually carried to the sink. I called electrolux and they sent me a drain kit, and I cajoled the Sears installer to return to install it.. Now it drains into the same drain as the washing machine. Still trying to learn the features. A little hard to restart when paused in the the cycle, as the start/pause bottle is not easy to use. Otherwise, it seems to do a good job and I recommend it. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great addition easy and efficient. A real space saver that does the job March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great features and easy to use bought it about a month ago and I am very pleased with its performance March 22, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy Had for 3 months and have had repair person out twice. Works on "Timed cycle" only. Definitely do not like ventless feature. On a hot day, the air conditioner has to work twice as hard to keep up. Not sure why it's called ventless because it's vented out the front. March 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This unit has many custom dry cycles I have had this dryer for two months and really enjoy it. It fits nicely in the small laundry room (closet) in my condo. It is quality through and through. I was sceptical if the ventless feature and if it would take more time to day the clothing. If indeed it does take longer, it is not much. I do not notice the difference. If you have limited space, I would highly recommend this dryer. March 15, 2016
