Not many channels etcetera issues
Not many channels. Remote is a dud got to have batteries unlike roku guess Im buying batteries now ugh. The remote kept disconnecting Had to contact google because of sound and bluetooth. Tired of coming back to tv after a 5 minute break to find movie or show or app close and can't get back to video. What a waste of money and time. The UI is okay thats about it. Live tv is pluto so why pluto app needed weird. Not a lot of space only 4GB. The google home app does nothing but turn it on and off and volume control. I couldn't stream xfinity app there isn't one. I had to remove some apps I didn't want. Its a nice color.
The remote is small and is missing a optional button like a menu button for settings button got to hold home button down which is not good because of how the remote is made. Private listening is only bluetooth remote doesn't have the functional 3.5 jack like competitor. I have to be right in front of tv to change to something else. Im not that thrill about this device only got it because my roku was acting wonky. Source button doesn't work. I mean it does nothing. The remote only turns on chromecast device not my tv. Back to using multi remotes.
Nothing really special not worth getting over the hd unless getting for 4k tv nothing new or text friends about.

Awesome fun!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family loves the Google Chromecast, and I honestly thought we’d never use it! I was totally against hooking this up, but we use it all the time now.
We use iPhones, and the app for the Chromecast enables us to use our phones like remotes for the TV. No matter how we’re watching TV, through Prime Video or streaming through Netflix, the Chromecast enables us to easily hook into it through the app.
We have a Google Home Mini, and the Google Chromecast was the simplest thing in the world to hook up! I am literally tech-illiterate but I was the one who hooked this up! I never thought I’d need or use the voice control, but I can play and stop anything just by saying it out loud, which is something we use more than once a day now!
Aside from using our phones as remotes, we use this a lot to cast the video or images from our phones onto our television screen. If you’ve never done this before, this is the coolest way to view videos that people send you from anywhere, such as their own personal videos taken from their phones or YouTube.com. If you only use it for this, I’d still recommend getting this device, as it almost automatically comes up on the TV, whereas we used to have to wait at least a minute or so for the video to upload to the TV.

New and definitely improved
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having bought Chromecasts starting at the 1st generation, I can say that this most recent Chromecast with Google TV is a definite upgrade. First off, its 4K ability matches the quality I expect from my TV. I didn’t have any trouble streaming consistently and clearly. The dongle is still minimal, though it needs to be plugged into a power block that’s included. Secondly, I love that it comes with a battery-powered remote that makes controlling it even easier. It’s slim, works well and it has a button to make it voice-controlled. What’s cool is that the remote can also act like a home hub, since you can give it Google Home commands too. Thirdly, with Google TV, it now matches what other similar boxes/controllers offer. I can still cast from my phone and computer, but having a search and suggest interface helps me discover more. There are a lot of apps to choose from (HBO, Hulu, Netflix) and it compiles suggestions based on your likes. The TV interface is nice-looking and user-friendly and I didn’t have any trouble finding what I was looking for. I’m looking forward to seeing how these suggestions develop the more I use it and definitely plan to connect more smart home devices to it.

I’m In Love With My Chromecast!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I had an opportunity to set up my Chromecast. Initially I was a bit intimidated because I thought it would be difficult to set up or take a long time. This couldn’t be further than the truth. It took me about 20 minutes to set everything up and it probably would have taken less time, if my internet was faster. Once I set everything up, I was able to play movies and tv shows instantly.
This Chromecast came right on time. I have a tv that I lost the remote to so I couldn’t watch anything but regular tv. I didn’t bother to set it up with any other streaming system so it’s just been sitting up for months, not being watched, what a waste.
Now with the Chromecast I will watch my tv all of the time instead of using my cellphone. All of the channels are clear and it only take a few seconds to switch from one show to another. I can easily get to YouTube or Netflix via the remote, by a simple press of the button. The remote is also voice controlled so I can easily control what I want to watch or listen to from my space.
Overall, would I recommend this product to others? YES! I plan to use my Chromecast for many years to come.

Fairly Simple Setup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The initial set up for the Chromecast took about 20 minutes for me. I feel like I am fairly technology savvy and did not experience too many problems during the set up. I do have an older model television that I wanted this for to be able to stream a few shows for my kids. It plugged in easily and I love that the remote had a button to push that took me right to one of the apps that I use the most frequently.
There was a bit to the verification process with my email as well as a text code needed but besides that even with my slower internet speed it worked very well. I liked the app because it was very "clean". Just a few tabs and I could easily locate everything. I also liked that I could talk to the remote to find what I needed instead of searching.

Easy to Install and Use

I think the Chromecast works well at streaming. There are lots of apps so there's always something new to watch. Easy to voice search for movies and other programs. I will definitely keep using this. My only complaint is the remote, too small to easily use and so slick, I keep dropping it.

Excellent Streaming Device

I am very impressed with the overall functionality and the technical performance. It works accurately whether using the buttons or voice commands. I have used other streaming devices in the past and this one is superior. Very smooth and easy to use. The setup was fast and super simple. It connected to my older tv without any issues. It goes right in the HDMI port. The instructions were precise and well described. I am watching all my favorite shows and movies with ease. There are tons of good quality free channels you can add plus I love watching Youtube with it. I highly recommend!

Fantastic

Easy to use

Remote doesn't work properly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to an easier way to get to the apps on the tv. Installation is very easy. All you have to do is plug it into the HDMI and the wall and than switch the input and it goes right to it. You do have to sign into a Google account or yahoo. I chose yahoo after many failed attempts at Gmail. It refused to let me even though I know for a fact my password was correct. After the initial setup the remote worked fine and you can go to whatever platform you please. The next time I tried to go to it I had difficulty getting it to pop up after switching the input. It finally popped up on my screen but the remote won't do anything but change volume. I cant use it because of this. Nothing else on the remote works. So, in saying this, it's much easier to go to the app function on my tv than bother with this.
