Q:I can’t seem to get the staples to seat. Have put in hundreds and have only dozens seated into the roof flat they either crunch up or are sticking up. As with everything I have ever bought I have been told it is perfect and it is operator error. How do I use this successfully

        Answer This Question

A:  I know what you mean. I put on roofing felt paper with this tool and had over half of them not go in all the way or crunch up. I do not think it is operator error. I think this tool needs to be reenginnered

A:  In my experience, this stapler works great when stapling downwards, but for stapling in an upwards motion, the stapler is simply too light weight to drive the Staples in all the way. A heavier similar stapler would work just fine.

A:  I have no problems with them seating. Just insert them with points facing out and into the pocket on handle. I know you can use different sizes, but I stick to the T50s

A:  It is bent of the inside and will close with staples in it.

A:  I bought it last week and used for a couple of days. Always sink the staples perfectly. So far this tool is the most satisfactory I bought from HD. LOVE IT

After looking at some of the reviews I can say with 100% certainty most reviews are from the manufacturer because anyone that has used this piece of trash more than 1 time knows it jams, jams and jams some more. Never got through one sleeve of staples without multiple jams. And I've used it more than I care to admit. The heavier version of this DeWalt sells never jams but it does slit on two way sooner than a quality tool should. I always used DeWalt tools but I'm done. This experience has converted me to Milwaukee man. Goodbye DeWalt.

                  Tacker
It’s a nice tool, but after a few months of use the driver falls out. I’ve purchased three of them to start with and have had to replace each one once through the warranty. I’m getting ready to exchange another one for the same reason. Structurally it’s a sound tool. Mechanically it is not. Thank good ness for the lifetime warranty.

                    Piece of trash
Worst stapler out there. Just buy an arrow. This would not put the staples in straight, even if you hit hard it still doesn’t work well, the angle of it or something and it also gets jammed all the time. I’m no DIY guy, i do construction for a living and i'll never buy this again.

                      Not worth it
Bought it month ago just because it says carbon fiber. So thought its gonna last longer than other staplers. Oh boy I was wrong. Completely stopped working after just one month, we didnt even used that much except some fiberglass insulation for the house. When we tried to fix it, the screws require special tool to open it, regular wrenches just dont work. Why would you make it unrepairable or openable? So just threw it away. Dont buy this garbage. Buy the regular one or other brands.

Much better than any other slap stapler in the big box stores.
Im a carpenter by trade and for the vast majority of my career its been framing exclusively. When youre turning over spec houses every 3 to 4 days, this tool becomes very valuable if you like making money. I do agree with some others that the angle of the handle could be improved on and it tool some time for me to get used to at first but once I did it was game over. I can slap this thing so fast that it sounds like a roofer nailing shingles. In this business speed is everything and in my opinion this thing cant be beat as of yet. Ive been switching most of my day in and day out tools to Milwaukee because they are killing the game but to my knowledge they dont have a comparable stapler.

                          DEWALT quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great hammer tacker. The DEWALT is much easier to use than the tackers I have used in the past. Very simple to load ( up to 2 strips of staples). There is even a label that lets you know what sizes and brands you can use. It has a good balance and is very light weight. It’s got the DEWALT yellow so it’s easy to spot from a distance ( no leaving this tool behind accidentally). Great product. The packaging was minimal and easy to open with just a simple straight blade screwdriver. Try it, you will be happy you did.

                            Carbon Fiber #Airplane Material!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this Hammer Tacker made of Carbon Fiber I said wow!! This is like having a piece of an Aircraft Material #787! Is super lightweight, and less effort to tack, as fast as you want, your joint will be pleased, once you used it you won't go back to the old heavy one. Works great, awesome grip, easy to load , so far I haven’t had any issues.

                              Strong with Great Ergonomics
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed was the ergonomics of the handle. Very comfortable, easy to grip with the ability to choke up on it with out sacrificing the fantastic grip. In addition, this thing is light! Be that as it may, there is no sacrifice in strength. It is rated for 880 thousand strike cycles so, swing away! I used it to staple chicken wire to the rim joist of my shop to prevent critters from getting underneath. It was effortless compared to using my conventional manual stapler. No squeezing just plain ole swinging. It is front drop in loading and accepts 5/16”, 3/8” or ½” staples. The label on the tacker has specs for 3 brands of staples which makes it convenient, no fumbling around for the instructions. In addition, it has a pinch latch and is anti-jamming and anti-locking. Overall, this is my new go to tacker, I really am impressed with how light and comfortable it is which no doubt will reduce fatigue. I highly recommend this for your tool box.

                                Light Weight Hammer Tacker
The DeWalt Carbon Fiber Composite Hammer Tacker is very light weight. This Tacker is very simple to load staples into. Just pull out the slide in the handle, which opens the slot in the bottom of the tacker to load staples. Push the slide back in and your are ready to work. This tacker uses various brands of staples in sizes 5/16", 3/8" or 1/2". It also uses Arrow T50 staples. This tacker works just like using a hammer. It is built very rugged. From experience, it is better to use staples with chisel points.
