I had a low spot on a piece of drywall and these shims evened everything out. They worked as intended. No idea why they only got 3 stars. Maybe folks don't know how to use them. They go BEHIND the drywall and attach to the stud... just incase anyone was wondering. Just staple them to the stud, bang the staple further with a hammer, fit the drywall and adjust if necessary. So easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great, fast. easy to install. Came out great and fast. no scissors needed just bend and tear. Only concern is having this near a restroom wall would and might mold up. As long as you keep them dry its an ease to work with. Fixed my plaster irregularities. In response to the other comment below. How would this not hold up? if you do it properly you shouldn't have to worry. Just use the proper length screws.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money- BUY Strait Flex INSTEAD These strips are awful! They are made out of recycled paper and shed fiber everywhere. They have no structural integrity as they tear and rip easily. They also feel like a limp noodle in your hand. I wouldn't trust these strips to hold up over time and if there is any concern about moisture just forget about using them, they would mold in an instant. Unfortunately these are the only drywall shim HD currently carries in store. For my bathroom project I decided to go with Strait Flex. I wish they would carry Strait Flex in store!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from When you need them, it's good to find them I'm doing some patching on an old plaster wall. The wall is 3/4" thick so no available drywall will do. Used 5/8" drywall plus stapled three strips to shim flush with existing wall. Worked great. Make sure to allow for extra length of drywall screws. Don't need structure (that's the studs job) but being able to adjust the shin thickness made it an easy job.
