Customer Questions & Answers

WHAT IS THE MURIATIC ACID TO 23500 GALLONS WATER RATION FOR SAFE SWIMMING CONDITIONS

Asked by: JACKI
Muriatic acid will lower the ph of your water. Ph is a measure of alkalinity or acidity of the water. Pure water has a ph of 7.0. For safety and comfort reasons, pool water should be between 7.2 and 7.8 with 7.5 considered ideal. First, measure the ph of your pool, use a good test kit or take it to a pool supply store for testing. A pool test kit will tell you how much acid to add if you need it. Likewise, the people at the pool store will tell you how much acid (if any) you need to add. Be careful with acid, never add it directly to your pool. Mix up to two cups of acid in one or two gallons of water then add the water/acid mix to the pool at the shallow end. Rinse both the measuring cup and the bucket with acid/water before storing.

You dont stock this item in 2 different stores. You can not ship it to my zipcode that is midway between your two stores. Why the heck do you advertise something you dont ever stock and cannot ship? How does this help your customers?

I'm new to maintaining my pool and didn't realize this until I went through over 4 gallons of this stuff. Find somewhere that sells 31.45% Muriatic acid. It is a much better value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from percent acid not as advertised acid is 14% unlike the 31% advertised. very weak product

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very weak acid (14.5%) I thought I would save money buying for the pool from Home Depot instead of the pool store. WRONG! Roughly the same cost as pool store but it's HALF the strength. Home Depot: $9.98 for 2 gal. at 14.5% acid. Leslies Pool: $9.99 for 2 gal. at 31% acid. ... same price, half the strength from Home Depot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Value This product is priced approximately the same as muriatic acid sold in pool supply stores, but the concentration is half. Because the price is approximately the same, and because the concentration is half, the price of this product is double compared to that purchased from pool supply stores.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak Acid. Don't buy The acid is weak. Requires large volume to lower PH. I have used acid that was so strong that you cant hold it near your nose. Kemtek Muriatic acid, I can sniff it without smelling the odor. Manufacturer has watered down product for profit?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Watered down version This is the watered down version.at 14.5% . Real pool acid is 31.45% . Big difference
Date published: 2013-06-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very weak Muriatic Acid This stuff will work however you will need to use twice the dosage. Most muriatic acid dosages are based on ~30% concentration of acid, this stuff is ~14%. It will work just be aware its very weak acid concentration.
Date published: 2013-04-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Acid % is up In the past, the active ingredient was only 14%. Checked today, and it is now 31%.
