Lil' Ripper Stripper is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from this lil dude is great I have used this frequently for around 4 years. Works great for removing the jacket from NM cable, and once you get the technique down you can strip and bend without nicks no problem. No it can't do that as good as a full set of electrical tools, but its the one tool I always have with me (in case I forget one of the others!) Came back to get a backup because the holes for bending wire are wearing out on mine. if they had metal inserts for these this tool would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wiring tool I found for a DIY homeowner. This is the Best tool I found for ripping, stripping and snipping outer jackets of electrical wire. There is no other tool better than this to remove the jacket from Romex cables/wires, without damage to wires: and that is what I mostly use it for, even though all the other features are great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless tool It's supposed to do 5 things: 1. Rip the NM sheathing - Poor: You have to push like crazy. The ripping nub must not to be very sharp. I prefer to nick the sheathing about 1/2" from the end. (You will strip that much anyhow, so you don't need to worry about nicking the insulation). Then I just pull the sheathing down the cable with linesman pliers. It rips as you do that. 2. Clips. It's easier to do that with the cutters on linesman pliers 3. Strips. Ok, but I'd rather use the plier-like strippers that have a spot for each different gauge of wire. Less likely to nick the wire. 4. Loops. That works ok, but others have pointed out that the tool is a little flimsy in that area. 5. Twists. Ok, so the Romex is in the box and I want to twist two wires together. This tool is designed to do that by rotating the Romex - not the wires. Kind of hard to do with the Romex in the box - and only works if you are twisting wires which are in the same piece of Romex. Summary: This is a worthless tool. I'm taking it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A safe and effective way to remove the insulation off NM cable (Romex) This tool works extremely well. Use it with training classes of 16 students to terminate receptacles and switches. This tool provides a safe way to remove and cut the insulated jacket form NM cable. Using utility knives cause accidental cuts to students fingers, but by using this tool it has stopped the accidents. It also works to remove the conductor insulation as well. Like the design work that went into making this tool. As a electrical instructor I recommend this tool for safe lab assignments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best tool so far I don't understand the low ratings. This tool does it all. I have used a cheap single purpose stripper and it works okay. But, this is all you need, including a screwdriver and a linesman pliers, to do most indoor electrical work. I have to admit that a good wire stripper does a better job than the V-blade stripper in this tool. By the way, it DOES strip sheathing in both directions. In other words, you can start at the end of the cable or in the middle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great inexpensive way to cut wire. I used this on cutting the sleeve on 12-2,14-2 and 14-3 wire and does a great job.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from you get what you pay for the price is great .. but it just doesnt do the job, spend the money on a good quality one, i tried this product and was disapointed and never used it again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little tool. I love this little tool, it's been very handy over the years when working on various projects around the house. Small enough to fit in your pocket and does the job nicely -- at the right price point too. This is one of those $5 tools that really outdoes your expectations. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that I tore up the bend/loop tool quickly trying to use with 12-guage wire. It would have been better to be reinforced on that end, to make it more durable overall, but it's a small complaint and shouldn't stop you from picking one up even if you have only a small electrical project.
