There is an on/off button or metal bar on ice makers that will stop if from operating. If you have it on but no water line to refrigerator you will here is cycle occasionally trying to draw water in. If no line is hooked up just turn it off. It will not harm the refrigerator itself.

Answer:
Hi Mp,
The ice maker requires water to create ice, so if a water line is not attached to the refrigerator, the ice maker will not produce ice.
If you do not intend to use the ice maker, open the ice maker compartment and switch the ice maker to the off position. The refrigerator will operate normally with the ice maker turned off.

I had to take a protractor to this! The drawers are limited as to how far they slide out. You will need to open the door about140-150 deg to access the entire drawer

Answer:
Because the drawers don't come out very far, the doors can be open as little as 80 deg and the drawer slides out as far as it will go. If you unlatch the drawer slide, you need to go to about 135 degrees to get the drawer out completely (ie for cleaning)

20.9 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Counter Depth is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 206.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied I was unsure about making a major purchase online and sight unseen. But so far, I'm very happy with this refrigerator. It's very roomy and, by clearing the door bins to make room, I did fit a large pizza box inside. The ice maker works fine (no unpleasant taste or odors). The fridge is super quiet. The interior is well lit. I love that the freezer is on the bottom, so everything I usually reach for is more conveniently at eye level. It's cabinet depth, so no worries about stuff getting buried in the back of the fridge. The bins on the doors are extra deep and have plenty of room for all those pickle jars and bottles of condiments. I fit a wine bottle on it's side in the deli drawer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great refrigerator for small spaces and looks great We had very specific dimensions for a refrigerator since we have built ins all around the space - most refrigerators were too tall and stuck out too far. This refrigerator fit JUST perfectly into the space and it is a great refrigerator. It is counter depth and I have a family of 5 so this refrigerator is a bit small for us so we have to keep up with throwing out old things and organize well but it works. It also has quite a bit of space in the doors for milk and condiments, etc. We do have a deep freezer in the basement where we keep extra freezer items. This refrigerator keeps fruits and veggies very fresh compared to our old refrigerator. The ice maker works very well (although they don't give you a scoop for the ice which I found strange). It is silent, I never hear any noise from the refrigerator and the temperature adjustments work very well. Overall it is a fabulous purchase if you are looking for a counter depth refrigerator and looks great in our kitchen.

Our priorities were dimensions, french door and no water dispenser. This one is very spacious for the size, and we are 2 people, we hardly ever fill the whole refrigerator, but if we have a big cake or some large tray, we can move shelfs around quite easily. Shelfs are quite stable, the refrigerator cools just fine, almost no noise at all, very quiet, we like the lighting, it's all very nice. We even got a good surprise when we saw that the handle for the freezer is completely fixed, and not those ones in many refrigerators that move when you open it, I don't know what's the reason for that design anyway, but we love it this way, very sturdy, just fixed to the door, less moving parts is always better. The only 3 things we could complain about are: 1. The doors don't close if you just let them go, so you literally have to give it a push for them to close, or you can also just slam it, but if you leave it open, it's not one of those doors that will automatically close. We don't really mind this, we got use to it and it's fine. They worked around this and there is an alarm that goes off after about 30 sec with the doors open, so you are never really going to leave the fridge open. 2. The ice-maker works fine at making ice, but for some reason when you open the freezer, a couple of cubes come out of their basket and fall on the floor. I guess it just fills up too much by the time the automatic sensor says stop making ice. That's ok for us too, we just turn off the ice maker when it gets full, and the basket is big enough for us... Once I see I need more ice, I just turn it on again. It's pretty easy access. 3. Magnetic stuff doesn't attach to the doors. We didn't try the sides (I've seen people doing that instead). So, keep that in mind. Overall, great quality, it's what we were looking for, maybe disappointed at the couple of ice cubes falling off, but that doesn't give me a reason to give them less than the 5 stars. The fridge works great so far, it's quiet and good looking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A quiet performer Would rate it 5 stars across the board if the door shelves were adjustable. This refrigerator is so quiet compared to the previous branded one it is amazing. The most noise it makes is when the ice dumps. It also seems to run less frequently which makes me believe it will be more energy efficient. So far very happy with the purchase

Overall a very nice fridge; however, the ice maker has issues as well as getting LG here to properly fix the problem. The ice maker leaks from inside the back of the unit. An LG technician came the fix it and made the problem worse (to the point that I've had to shut off the ice maker). I reported this to LG to have a proper fix that resulted in a scheduled appointment with the technician and he never showed up. I now have a third scheduled appointment and wonder if he'll show up.

I was told to throw away the first 48 hours worth of ice which we did. The ice and freezer have a vet strong odor and taste of plastic resin. I called LG, they told me to replace my water line which I did. It continued to have a fowl taste and smell. I called them back, the told me to put baking in the top and bottom sections, no help! They sent a technician out who said he smelled nothing nor tasted nothing, but said we should put the baking soap in a flat plate, he was worthless. It's 3 weeks now and HD stepped in. LG wants to replace it, I said NO WAY, I am buying a GE. Stay away, that's why it $1000.00 now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased We are very happy with this product. The dimensions were exactly as represented and fit perfectly into our cabinet space. Performance to date has been excellent. Future buyers should note that this is a smaller unit and the door shelves are not adjustable. All in, a very good value.
