Answer:
For roofing application, use Thermapink, extruded XPS (similar to Foamular)...comes in 1", 1½", 2", 3", 4" thicknesses, R5 per inch. Can use multiple layers to achieve desired R value.

Answer:
This product is rated R-5 per inch of thickness, so you would need 6" of thickness to achieve R-30. However, according to the manufacturer, Foamular 150 is not intended for roofing insulation applications, if that's what you had in mind.

It paints beautifully with acrylic or latex paints. Spray paint will melt uncoated foam. Read Less

Answer:
This is not one of the recommended applications, but it would be possible to use Foamular to insulate your dog house if you wanted. It is typically recommended by residential bldg code that it is covered by a 15 min Thermal Barrier such as drywall or gypsum, but I do not believe there are any restrictions in regards to dog houses. Thank you for your inquiry!

There are no building codes governing the construction of dog houses, so why not? But seriously, this would be a good choice. It's lightweight, cuts easily and is impervious to water.

FOAMULAR 150 2 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. R-10 Scored Squared Edge Insulation Sheathing is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for DIY archery targets... Odd, I know, but get one 8'x4' sheet of this and cut it into 24"x16" sections at 2" thick, stack them into a wooden frame and compress with either ratchet straps or some sort of threaded rod on either side. Makes for an excellent 24"x24" faced target capable of handling broadheads for less than half the price of an 18"x18" Block classic target. Even better, when a section starts chunking, just loosen the compression and move a layer up or down. DIY archery target, works a treat, light weight, lasts a while and saves a fair amount of money. Mine has lasted 3 years of minor to moderate broadhead and field point use from a 50lb recurve before needing to have the layers rotated, totally serious.

The bathroom gets very cold in the winter. I wanted to put insulation under the shower floor area an along the 2x6' sides and end. I pressed the 2" insulation up so that it contacted the floor. I have seen a 100% improvement in the temperature in the bathroom. The product met my expectations and was easy to trim to size with a drywall saw

I had a HomeOwner's Assoc. request a new sign to replace an old, weathered redwood sand-blasted sign. I suggested bonding two pieces of an 1/8" Aluminum substrate to either side of a sheet of Foamular 150 to make the new sign. They agreed, and I was able to cut the foam to shape with an electric carving knife easily. I used 100% Silicone for bonding, and a dark brown paintable silicone around the outer edge, clamping it together until cured. All the faux-painting of wood grain, shadows and letters were done in Acrylic House Paints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic results... I had two objectives... 1. Insulation 2. reduce noise for neighbors. I accomplished both. I used this 2" foam insulation in my 12 x 16 shop walls and ceiling. I then sealed any gaps with Great Stuff foam spray. The shop is now tight and can be heated with only a small ceramic 1500 watt heater. It's 28degress outside and I am able to be content in my shop. These panels were easy to score and snap to the appropriate size. Would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used as hydronic floor heating underlayment I installed 2" thick Owens-Corning foamular sheets around the perimeter of and under my new pole barn prior to installing hydronic heating tube (PEX). I bought them in 4x8' sheets and they were pre-scored so they could be easily broken into 16" or 24" widths. They were also easy to cut to custom widths using a drywall knife - you only have to score them about 1/2" deep and they break easily along the score line. I also used my sabre saw to cut them using a knife-type blade. The material is light and easy to work with. My only beef would be the price.
