So the review states the product never dried...I need a product to do a basement wall that has a few chunks of cinder block missing and similar holes

Similar holes in the concrete floor. Is this the right product , The Phenopatch 1-Gal. Gray Pre-Mixed Concrete Patch...or should I use something else?

The other review says that it was still soft after a week, but the instructions on the packaging say that it takes 28 days to fully cure. It worked well for me to patch a 3/4 inch hole. I checked on it day or two latter and it was still soft. I didn't check again for a couple more weeks and it was rock hard. So I guess it depends on how big your missing chunk is and if you can get it to say in place while it hardens. It has the consistency of ice cream when it comes out of the tub.

SO FAR THIS STUFF IS GREAT FOR FILLING SMALL CRACKS, IT TAKES 24 HOURS GIVE OR TAKE TO DRY,IF YOU DON'T KNOW OR LIKE TO MIX A BAG OF CEMENT, THIS IS THE STUFF FOR YOU, SO FAR FOR LARGER CRACKS THIS HAS WORKED BUT YOU NEED A LOT OF IT TO FILL THE CRACK, WHEN DRY ,IT DRYS TO A GRAYISH COLOR . THE DIRECTIONS ARE VERY EASY TO READ AND FOLLOW. ANOTHER GREAT PRODUCT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stuff!!! I don't get it, this stuff is great. Easy to work with, spreads nicely, water soluble for easy clean up. I've used this product for years. If it starts to harden in the container, add some water and stir. My gate was ripped off by a passing car. I pieced th block wall back together using Concrete Patch. It took awhile but better than replacing the whole wall. It has to hold the weight of the gate. If you spread it too thick, it won't dry. At a 1/4" thickness, it can dry and you add another layer. Get it too thick and it doesn't dry. It would look like useless putty as described by a previous reviewer. It always helps to read the directions...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing!!! I used this product on a 1/2 in deep - 4" x 6" hole in my garage concrete floor. It never dried. I scooped it out with a hand trowel a week later. The 1/2 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep cracks took days and days to dry with this product. I took it back and got some Quickrete Vinyl Concrete Patcher and mixed it myself for the larger holes. The smaller cracks were filled much more easily with Quickrete Crack Filler - Qt. jar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thin layer works great As the previous reviewer noted, this product won't dry well when applied in thick coat. However, for thin coat application (1/4"), it did pretty good job for me. I had the concrete slab pealing and flocking, I brushed the old material away and covered the damaged area with this product. Adhesion is very good, as weather resistance. The consistance is a little too liquid for vertical surface but I managed to get with it. Make sure not working in the direct sun or very hot day or the product dry too fast and the final result could be uneven. With those caveats, it drys in an even coat that is nice to the look. To fill deaper holes, several coats are needed, and let the product dry overnight in between. Or fill with other material and then coat with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not very good, dissolves and wears easily after curing We decided to apply a coat of epoxy paint to our garage floor. Since the floor is 30+ years old, we needed to repair several cracks and chips/gouges before we applied the paint. The concrete patch is simple enough to use however it isn't very good for small/shallow chips and isn't very durable, even after curing. We applied it with a putty knife and then gently wiped the top with a damp sponge to get the repair flat with the surface before it cured. We then let it cure for a week. Once we applied the 'etching' coat of 10% muriatic acid and water before the epoxy paint, the patch repairs softened and the repair material started to wear out. This resulted in the repairs being visually obvious after the floor was painted. We did our garage workshop in two 'halves' so for the second half, we switched to Bondo to fill the chips and cracks in the concrete pad and it worked perfectly and didn't shrink or dissolve during the etching process. If you don't care about the durability of the concrete repair, then use this. If you want something that will be virtually invisible and durable for pre-epoxy coat repairs, then use something else like Bondo instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nearly Worthless Simply put it doesn't work. It goes on and does seal, but isn't durable. It's also ugly, not matching anything close to normal concrete color, and is just basically like putting gray rubber coating. Very disappointed. Made things look uglier instead of better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The very best! Can be used for so much more then repairing cracks in cement. It is the best on the market, it does not get oily & separate like other brands I have used. When it dries it is better then real cement. I also like the stucco product that Home Depot sells. Use your creative side :-) You can make really cool pretend bricks or rocks with it.If a real brick gets loose or falls off a wall this will glue it right back on. I also years ago on purpose tried to burn a dried chunk of it to see if it would burn or melt. Because I have made bricks with it on the wall behind my stove. They look great! Not saying if your house is on fire it will not burn, But it does not melt or burn in a old ash tray trying to light with a lighter.
