Hi Shaq, unfortunately, this product is not designed for painting your car. That sounds pretty cool, however even if you did get it to stick, the wash ability would be in question.
This is a good product to dip the handle of hand tools in. Also makes it easier to see your hand tools.

Answer:
It will most likely to be able to withstand the chemicals in gas, I haven't attempt to entirely test it with gas but it is easily removed with types of oils. It definitely would not be a great solution to stopping a leak regardless unless you intend to use the non-spray version, which I'm still not 100% convinced that it would work better.

Answer:
There is a specific product called SUPER GRIP also made by the PLASTI DIP.
IT was made as a non-skid coating to be applied to rugs and other fabric items.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Be careful using over paint Easy to spray and dries fast. However, I used it to spray over enamel paint and it ended up in a big disaster. The Plasti Dip would disolve the paint below it, even through areas that were masked with masking tape. Appeared to shrink a lot while drying, leading to cracks. May have had to do with the paint dissolving beneath the top layer. I guess it can be good for other applications, such as on bare metal. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will buy again - color very true to black Project: 2012 GMC Canyon Mission: Chrome blackout and personal touch While Plastidip and Flexidip are on par in price, they are by no means the same product. Having used both Plastidip and Flexidip on this project (store was out and so where all the auto parts stores in 25 miles of me). Flexidip went on just as Plastidip, but Flexidip dried faster and left a smoother texture. It will be some time before I can determine which is better, but I'm putting my money on Plastidip. I just seems to have far better coverage, and after it dries seems to be more durable. As you can see in my photos, the Front bumper, Grill, Rear bumper, and name plates are all Plastidip. The door handles, wheels, and my super awesome stencil are Flexidip. Flexidip left a much smoother texture than Plastidip. I got the effect I was after, but I will probably end up redoing my wheels, and door handles with Plastidip. After using both for the first time ever, I probably would not recommend Flexidip over Plastidip. I recall seeing Plastidip on the shelves when I was in my teens, and Flexidip is a relatively new product. This leads me to believe that Rustoleum just seems to want to grab a piece of the pie. Bottom line, if your product isn't as good or better, you're going to go hungry. My 2 cents, peace and Semper Fi. June 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used on S10 Wheels... I purchased 2 cans from one of your local stores and this stuff works great for many thing. Seen a few videos on YouTube for using this to coat truck wheels and it worked out GREAT on my S10. 2 cans was just enough to do 4 - 15" wheels in 4 coats each. Just be sure to CLEAN whatever you are coating first! Best part besides price - NO SANDING REQUIRED!! November 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Matte Black Mustang I absolutely love Plasti Dip, especially now that my Home Depot started expanding the color choices and I hope they continue to do so with the many products coming out! I applied this to my car, and it looks great! (It's been Dipped for 7 months and still holding strong). You can't go wrong with any product from Performix! July 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing. Purchased 4 cans to spray my 98 civic hatchback aftermarket rims. Took longer than I wanted as I had to spray 6 coats per rim due to them being white. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product. Goes on even and dries quick. Will use the product to spray my entire car next! January 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it Used it on my Crown Victoria. Easy to use and it looks like a factory job. March 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing stuff All out great product, I've gone through 6 cans just putting it on things! February 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plasti Dip Spray on After three coats it is still pretty thin, definitely no where near the plastic that comes on an already insulated tool. I believe that next time I will save my money and just buy plastic tubing, glue it at one end then heat it just enough to shrink it a little. Very disappointed in this product September 6, 2015
