Answer:
It will help if you water it within 1-2 days after application. Water helps dissolve the fertilizer and embed it into the soil of your lawn.

Answer:
Watering is not required but it is necessary to begin the feeding process. We suggest watering if activity is expected on lawn, no rain is predicted for the next several days, or when daily daytime high temperatures are expected to reach 90 degrees or above.

Answer:
This product is a lawn fertilizer only, it does not control weeds. This product does not interfere with the germination of grass seed and you may sow grass seed directly before or after application.

Marathon II is a fescue seed that can be applied in the fall to thicken your lawn. By filling in the gaps in the lawn, you will help prevent new weed seeds from establishing. Now is an excellent time to plant in southern California.

Answer:
This is an organic fertilizer which means that there is very little water soluble nitrogen to leach out. The nitrogen in this fertilizer is released slowly as the natural biological processes slowly break it down to where the grass roots can absorb it.

Answer:
Heavy downpour rains for extended periods of time can slightly diminish the effectiveness of the lawn food. But we still recommend not to reapply any less then 6 weeks.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dogs won't go on lawn I applied this product a few days ago. On the first day I didnt let my dogs play out there, just to be safe. It didn't matter though because once they went out they refused to go on it anyway! They seemed curious about the smell, but I couldn't even push them onto the grass and had to take them to the front where it hadn't been applied yet. It rained the first two nights and they finally went out into the yard for the first time. Then last night one of my dogs was sick all night with vomiting and diarrhea. I don't even know if this product works yet, but I know I'm not using it again. May 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dog Snacks I just bought this yesterday and cannot judge on performance, but I am concerned that my dogs and some neighborhood dogs are finding it way too interesting. One of my dogs won't stop licking the ground and eating the dirt. I hope the ingredients are safe for ingestion. :( April 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product made my dog eat the lawn Purchased and applied as directed. Had a strong smell to it almost like something that was dead and rotten. Never had a problem with my dog using yard for he bathroom. After applying Scotts Natural Lawn Food, she no longer wants to do her business there, but wants to eat the grass. Just returned from vet had her checked, he told me not to use anything that would make my dog a grazer. This stuff mite work, but I would rather buy dog food, more healthy for my little girl. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Natural product is great We stopped chemical lawn service...6 people have suddenly come down with autoimmune diseases in a small block. Started the natural and our lawn looks absolutely great. Thank you January 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All natural feeding Easy to use granules with a high (for Organic) nitrogen content. Labeled for lawns but it is a great all purpose food for all types of plants. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] January 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My choice for a safe , healthy lawn. I'm glad to see that Scotts offers a natural alternative to chemical gardening. The product worked well and I can feel good about applying this product to my lawn. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] January 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scotts Organic Lawn Food. This is the Best Organic Lawn Food on the Market. We have used this Product since its introduction. You must give it several Applications and time to have the Lawn adjust to the Product. Stop using all the toxic Chemicals out there. October 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disgusting Product If you do a bit of Google searching (I wish I had before using this product) you will find many many users have the same experience. The product stinks. Literally and figuratively. I applied it yesterday and later int eh day it rained. The smell created is nauseating. And today came the flies - too many to count. Many dog owners claim their pets cannot stop eating this stuff. We have 2 cats and we spent a lot of time and money turning our backyard into a "kitty park". Before yesterday they would spend hours and hours outside - often times we had to round them up at bedtime. Ever since this went down they refuse to even go out back. A disgusting product that deserves 0 stars, if possible. June 26, 2014
