could these be glued directly to ceiling sheetrock or instaled in some other way with out using the grid?

I want a ceiling tile for my wood shop that helps with the sound, and covers the raw sheet rock.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Mike sorry for the delay , We do not recommend this tile to be glued directly to the Sheetrock What we do recommend is looking at the Tivoli tile it is a glue & staple up tile this may work better for your application

We recently made our basement into an apartment and needed to update the dropdown ceiling. We are very happy with this purchase and the outcome. The tiles fit into the grids that were there. The tiles are also much sturdier than the fiberglass flimsy ones of yesteryear. Makes a better sound proofing -- being that the new floors are mainly ceramic tile. Home Depot was quick to fill the order.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, except no mechanical strength Installed 6'' recessed light (light weight house and led) on the tile. It is less than one month, I can see the ceiling fall down a little bit around the light for every tile which have the light. I am afraid it is in creeping process, and it will fall down eventually. If you don't add any weight to the ceiling, I will recommend this product. Otherwise I don't
