Our local HD also sells these pre-cut in 2' x 4' pieces, which was perfect for me as I wanted a 4' x 4' piece over my new work bench. So, I stacked two of them to create this. Besides, a 4' x 8' piece would never fit in my car!
I mounted the top and bottom of each piece on 1" x 2" furring strip (also from HD), then to the wall studs. I saw no need to frame the sides, just the top and bottom.
If you don't want the white side, reverse it, as the reverse side is brown.
The only issue I have is that either my collection of hooks is too narrow in diameter, or the peg board holes are too large. Thus, when removing some items from certain hooks, the hook comes with them. Not a huge issue.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Diogenes A major compatability problem!
Depending on which brand (or size) of pegboard hooks you use on this pegboard there is a potentially major compatibility problem. The pegboard hardware which Home Depot sells will work okay but they don't sell a very extensive range of hooks and most of the hooks which other stores sell will NOT FIT the holes in this board. The problem is that most of the store are now selling j-hooks, angle hooks and u-hooks which have a 'second' stabilizer pin which is helpful in keeping the hook secured on the board. If you buy the light duty version (which is only about an eighth inch in diameter) they will all likely fit fine, but on the heavy duty size (which is roughly a quarter inch diameter), the second (lower) pin will NOT FIT. This can be remedied by breaking off that second pin (which is only fusion welded in place) but you probably need a vice to hold the hook and vice grip pliers to break off that lower pin, in order to accomplish the task (or at least that is how I did it).
This fit problem doesn't seem to exist with other brands of pegboard. I have bought from HD's most major competitor and the 2-pinned hooks work fine with their board so it doesn't seem to be a spacing problem, but rather, a hole size problem. Proving this theory out I have taken several of the pins which I have broken off and I find that even when they are independent of the rest of the hook, they still won't fit in the hole. This tells me that the holes in the HD pegboard are just a tiny bit smaller. If you prefer not to have to break off the second pin you can simply ream the hole with a drill bit but an easier fit is to just make sure the hooks you plan to use 'fit' before buying the pegboard (where ever you buy it).
For the record ... even the shelf arm type hardware fits poorly on this pegboard. their double prong is often times just a bit too wide to fit unless you take a channel lock pliers or better yet use a vice to squeeze the prongs together just a millimeter or so. Then they fit fine.
My recommendation is to buy elsewhere, but even then ... test the hardware first, before purchasing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scoutz Great PegBoards for the COST
its finally time to make a review. i got a hold of the garage about over a year now and made it for auto/gear use. i have so many tools laying around. i was planning to get metal boards, but decided to go with these because the cost of 4 is the same as one 16x48 metal board. i put about 100-200lbs on each board and it holds up great with no flex. just make sure to get some Triton duraHooks or some double locking type Hooks to make it easy. but for basic use, get standard hook and use some tape to hold it in place. The surface quality is smooth and white, the holes are perfectly drilled and no defective cuts on each edges. some scratches might appear due to sliding it off to buy them. overall, great product and still standing strong against my tools.

This pegboard is very nice to work with. It has a white smooth finish on the front that can be painted. I installed it in my utility room attaching it to the studs so I didn't need to use the spacers. It looks so clean and finished. It is very useful. I bought the hooks and accessories to hold all of my stuff. Great buy.

Bought this for my garage, but found some panels had wear marks from people sliding panels on top of the finished side. The panels worked great for what I wanted them for, but check the finished side before buying.

You can't beat a pegboard when it comes to organizing a garage. This board is well made & I appreciate that it's already white so I didn't have to paint it. It's plenty sturdy enough to hold drills, a nail gun, etc. I'll likely be purchasing another soon.

Well worth it to organize any work space. I inherited my fathers garage. After cleaning, putting up the peg board made everything visable, easy to find and gave a clean look to what would have otherwise been called a "homeless mans toilet". I take pride in the things I fix, build, install, and create. Having my tools where I can see them and organized on the peg board is amazing
