A:  Item #5 in Product Overview states, "WingIts compatible flange for stud-less installation; WingIts sold separately (SKU 147-567)." Or, you can use mushroom head toggle-bolts like I did.

A:  I do not know the grade of the stainless steel in the grab bars but I will say that I have had 6 of them installed in the house for over two years and another two installed for over four years (including one that is installed on the exterior of the house). None of these grab bars has shown even the slightest bit of any kind of corrosion.

A:  The outside edge of the tube extends 3 1/8" from the wall. The tube itself is 1.5" in dia. So you have 1 5/8" clearance between the inside edge of the tube and the wall - more than enough room for your hand.

Q:Should the long shower grab bar be placed horizontal or diagonal?

                  Answer This Question

A:  I fastened it to the wall studs, which are 16 inches apart. Since the grab bar is 18 inches, it is diagonal. I find that to be more attractive than straight horizontal or vertical, and it feels more natural when I grab it. Also, since it is screwed into the studs, it feels rock solid.

A:  I have installed them horizontally, vertically and on the diagonal.

                    Answer This Question

A:  This particular grab bar is designed to be attached into the wall's substrate. No suction cups (or alternative attachment method) are provided. If you can anchor into the substrate behind the shower wall then you could make the installation work - but be SURE to caulk points where you have penetrated the shower wall so shower water doesn't get behind the wall..

A:  Thank you. This Bar is attached with screws.
