A: Hello, for dark walls you should step up to the PPG Speedhide Zero primer which is a little thicker. Depending on how dark the walls are you might need to apply 2 coats.

A: Hello, yes, this product can be used on new drywall. Keeping in mind nails or screws should be countersunk, and they along with any indentations, should be mudded flush with the surface, sanded smooth and cleaned to remove any dust, then prime, prior to painting the substrate.
