Questions and Answers for Quikrete 50 lb. Commercial Grade Blacktop Repair Patch

A:  Loose material should be removed, then QUIKRETE® Permanent Blacktop Repair can be placed to a height of ½ in (13 mm) above the surrounding area. Do not apply less than 1 in (25 mm) thick. Material over 1 in (25 mm) must be applied in 1 in (25 mm) lifts which must be adequately compacted before additional material is added.

A:  QUIKRETE® Commercial Blacktop Repair is a specially formulated high performance asphalt cold patch material for repairing potholes and cracks over 1 in (25 mm) wide in asphalt pavements. The aggregate contained may be too coarse for cracks narrower than 1 in (25 mm).

A:  Please contact your local The Home Depot store directly for pricing and availability. Please note - QUIKRETE Blacktop Patch is not designed for curbs or other unconfined areas; The application maximum size is restricted to an area of approximately 3 ft × 3 ft (0.9 m × 0.9 m).

A:  Water is no problem for QUIKRETE® Blacktop Patch. Apply per instructions and the water will be displaced.

A:  QUIKRETE Blacktop Repair should only be placed in fully confined applications like potholes. This product hardens by compaction instead of curing like concrete. If the material is loose, it either has been placed in too large of an area or needs to be further compacted prior to being placed into service.

A:  QUIKRETE Blacktop Repair hardens through compaction, not evaporation like a paint or chemical curing like concrete. Applying heat will not accelerate the hardening.

A:  QUIKRETE® Commercial Grade Blacktop Repair Patch is only intended for pothole repair, and is limited in size to under 10 square feet to allow for proper compaction. Applications larger than this will require a minimum 2 ton vibratory roller to compact.
