Doesn't work... it won't dry
We applied 9 bags of Quickcrete to two potholes per instructions. Waited 72 hrs to apply the sealer still didn't dry. We applied the sealer anyway thinking that maybe with everything on it, it may dry eventually. The sealer has completely cracked and the pieces of quickcrete and sealer are still coming off 1 week later. We are now going to have to rip up everything and repair again with another product and reseal, which is additional labor and material costs. Do not recommend.

My review is I used 5 - 50 LB bags going on now about 40 hours ago
3 sink wholes in my driveway - first I used Late-lite super patch 40 Lbs barrows $ 35. Each & it has cured but needed more 5 - bags of the Quikrete 50Lb bags ! Supposedly 24 hours after putting down you can seal cost ! I’m now about 40 hours in w/ the Quikrete , questionably rain 10 hours ago but did not now it’s raining now slightly and the Late-Lite Trowel patch needs 24 hours drying time No Rain ! Which will be this is now Saturday rain - Sunday suppose to rain Monday- Friday morning no rain figure Tuesday through Thursday No rain & temps on Thursday 78 degrees that’s the Trowel Patch drying then for the sealant Latex-Lite Ultra shield Filler Sealer have to wait for weather to agree ! Will see if this stuff works as advertised ! ~ ? “ You’ll read it “ I will post good or bad ! I will promote Latex-Lite & Quikrete or I will slam them on every Media network !

Not bad
Normally I buy from local hardware store, different brand. Was scared after reviews here. Maybe I got lucky? Filled area in carport that was removed during sewer project. After 2 days and a dusting over area, mildly firm. I did use gas tamper, hand tamp in tighter areas. 2 weeks now. Quite firm. It can still be dug up with ease. My 2 year old tries daily. Being cold patch, it needs ample time to stiffen up. Hope it lasts. Good luck to the rest of you. Patience is needed.

Overall, good product to use in a pinch. I had to fill in some cut lines and a 3 inch hole from a plumbing repair in my driveway. The product matched the surrounding asphalt and went on easily. Draw back is that it has a consistency of molasses and took several weeks to harden. During that time, the product was smeared a little by vehicle traffic.

Does not dry
My husband worked like a dog to fill in the span between our garage and driveway that settled. This stuff is still squishy and a month! This product should be removed from the shelves. It doesn’t dry. I wish we could get our money back. Now we have to dig it all up and fix another problem. What a mess!

I bought some old stuff that had been sitting there and it felt hard already and looked strange when I opened it and it still works great. I had a problem with it sticking to the tamper more than the road depression it was going in but after using my sneaker and waiting 5 days it's a solid sheet. All the rock in it is 1/4 inch so it's quite hard to feather when you just lay it on top. They should offer a 1/8 version too.

Doesn't set hard
I used this to bridge the gap between the road an curb side driveway cut it. I followed all directions for application. It's been over 4 weeks and none of it is set hard, it's all still loose pieces. Almost like aquarium rocks just covered in black goo. It still sticks to my car tires and i can move it with my foot.

Where my driveway meets the road, it had cracks and mosaicked badly enough that I pulled out some of the bigger pieces and tried filling back in with mortar mix(then sealed over). For whatever reason(s), that "fix" didn't last. I wanted a better solution so I bought this product to fill in those areas after pulling and washing out those areas as best I could. The biggest hole was maybe 4"X6". I read the description - watched the video - but I wanted to try something different. I packed this stuff in tight using a 2X4, but it's very loose in the bag. It's almost like an oily liquid mixed in with small gravel. I was expecting something with more tar in it - gooeyer. It was always my intention to seal over this asap and I did...like the next day and even being in the hot July sun(+90 degrees) it wasn't anymore set than when I first put it in. I wanted something that water wouldn't get into in the Winter and crack open again. I doubt this will work even with an extra thick coating of sealer over it. Probably the wrong product for my need. I did, just for an experiment, pour a little over into the corner of the driveway just to see how it would set up.

Do not buy this product. In an effort to keep it from hardening in the bag they have created a product that will also not harden in open air. It's as soft and mushy after 2 weeks as it was when it was installed per the mfr. instructions. Total waste of money and time. Headed to HD now for a refund.

TERRIBLE. NEVER HARDENS AND SUPER STICKY, got and still getting tracked all over our driveway and inside our house....beware of walking on it. From what I read other people have this problem too. I think I'm going to try the "Road Rescue" one since people say that actually hardens(but turns to gravel later). Now I have to take this all out and throw away and repaint my wooden walkway from this black goo getting everywhere. Waste of time and money.

After prepping the pot hole in the parking lot, the product set really well. It has been 5 days since the product was applied and it was fully cured without settlement. I only rated this a 4 star due to the uncertainty if it will hold up over this winter. Otherwise the product seemed to be good.

I used this to cover a hole in our church parking lot. This product was easy to use, even for a first time project and saved the church a lot of money. Fill in the hole with gravel, pour out the asphalt, smooth it over to get the grade you want and drive over it. Thanks!!

This product worked and has continued to be incredible for the application that I used it for. The driveway at the property had dropped down over time and was pitching water toward the foundation to the house. I applied Quikrete Commercial Grade Blacktop Repair and pitched it at an angle so that it was higher next to the house and sloped down towards the driveway to divert water from pooling and being forced up against the foundation.
I am a total rookie, and have never done a project like this, let alone much else....the product was extremely easy to use and handle ( wear a pair of old gloves that you no longer want ), and performed remarkably well.
I applied it in approximately 1 inch layers and tamped it down before adding more, but it was quick and easy to apply. It has been months now since application and it is still working great...absolutely thrilled!!!!

I pulled out the cement footers of 6 chain link fence posts in a driveway. I then squared the holes, packed in some Quikrete all-purpose gravel, tamped them down, overfilled the hole with this Quikrete Blacktop repair, and tamped it down. The directions recommend using plywood and driving over it, but because of the location, I could only use a tamp. It took about a month to harden (down in late September, hardened by end of October), but final results were great.

Great product for the price! Follow directions for prep. work. Repaired several large pot holes in front of our loading docks and so far it's holding up well (2 months). Largest hole was 6 inches deep by approx. 5' dia. Used my full size Yukon to flatten out each layer using a large plastic bag to protect tires from tar. I also found covering the last coat with fine sand filled in the small voids firming it up even more. Product is more course than normal residential blacktop. Be sure to leave enough depth near edges for final layer, my first repair I didn't do this and ended up with very thin coat at edges which didn't look good. Recommend pre-ordering for curbside pick-up! Will save your back. :)

Don't Buy This Product
This company apparently has no product control because some people are saying it's good and other like I had very poor results. I used this product 10 days ago at a summer home and followed the instructions on the bag. I came back a week latter to find it was still soft. So at first a re-tamped it, then I read online if a add some portland on top and re-tamp it will help cure. So I did this and waited three more days, but when I drove over it stuck to my tires. So today I removed all of it and in the wheelbarrow it looks exactly like it did coming out of the bag. So now I have a total of 4 hours in this project with nothing to show.

Great product. Great price.
I have a 1 car wide driveway going up a pretty steep hill. It's made of asphalt. There was part of the driveway that was badly cracked. After I removed the cracked pieces, I ended up with an opening about 3 feet by 9 feet. I then compacted the dirt with a temper. Then, I used 2x4s to create a restraint for the patch to sit against on the one side. Finally, I filled the area with about 1 inch thickness of this BlackTop Patch making sure all was even and compressed it down with a temper. Next, I put plywood over the area and drove back and fourth with my car. Finally, I added the last layer of the material to be flush with existing asphalt and compacted the same way again. In the end, I used about 14 bags.
Yes, it's true-- it takes a while for it to harden, two weeks for me, but it's ok. It does look very nice when well compacted. I think it's the same stuff they use on the highways, but there, they seem to just dump the bag and leave leaving the stuff to fly all over the road. When compacted, it looks very nice!

Filed complaint with Home Depot. Stop selling this!
I don't know why there are any positive reviews of this product. Simply put, this product is very sticky and has lots of tar, but won't compress or set. No matter what you do, you can always push your finger through it or feel it move under your feet. When the sun comes out, it gets softer.
I did a test on this product. I poured three different 1" thick areas.
1st area. I added sand on top and poured cold water on it to try to get it to harden. Failed.
2nd area. I added liquid tar to the mix. Failed
3rd area. I heated it with a torch to get it to set. Failed.
On the bag it says it is DOT approved, but when I called the company, he said it is not.
I finally got my repaired area to stiffen up by pouring pure cement in water on the finished area. That did help it to feel somewhat solid, like I could drive on it without leaving a tire mark.
I filed a complaint with Home Depot requesting they not sell this product.
I did get a full refund.
I miss the old asphalt mixes that actually had some VOC's in them so they could cure hard.
DEQ is focusing on this small market, why not focus on the main road repair industry instead?

DOES NOT SET!! DO NOT BUY!! DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!! BEWARE!! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!
PROBLEM: The installation of 12 bags of commercial grade blacktop repair 50lb bags was on July 23, 2015. I have pot holes ranging from 1 inch deep to 3 inches deep and 1 foot wide to 4 foot wide variations (I have included pictures and videos below). Even the small cracks less than 1 inch deep that I filled and tamped have not hardened. I put plywood down and drove over it with my truck as per the instructions on the back of the package for tamping.
After a week of not hardening I had a Quickcrete representative John Landis come out and tell me that it’s unusually soft and it "should set up in 48 hours”. His manager John Meyer called and told me that “it takes 3 months to set up because it’s hot out”. I was not satisfied with that answer so I then asked to speak with his manager Eric Shultz. He proceeded to tell me that the material would not set up if the edges were not cut. He also told me that if the hole is 4 feet wide instead of 3 feet wide that it would not set up. Yet another excuse was that they changed their formula to a vegetable formula because of EPA standards and it takes longer to set up now. I asked Eric if there was a possibility that this product was defective and he told me “Absolutely not... Quickcrete has never had a defective product”. I find his statement hard to believe… After hearing one excuse and lie after another with no resolve to my problem I returned this item to home depot on 8/11/15 because Quickcrete would not return the material. The job was dirty and costly to clean up and took up a lot of my time. At this point 19 days later it was still soft enough to scoop with a spoon.
The worst part of this is after speaking with 3 different representatives and managers (John Landis, John Meyer, and Eric Shultz) at Quickcrete they were completely rude unhelpful with any type of customer resolve. They did nothing but blame me for not installing it improperly, which I did not…
RESOLVE: As I told the reps, my resolve was to have someone clean up the defective product, give me my money back and install a product that will set in a reasonable time frame (48 hours). Since the amount of time they took up arguing with them, I don’t think this was an unreasonable request.
I have also constructed a 2 x 2 square box with one inch of the tamped material I am using as a control substance in order to test how long this product actually takes to set.
I will be posting this complaint and findings on my social media as well as multiple online review search engines to document this horrible customer service from Quickcrete representatives.
I have included pictures and video of this product below.
