I don’t know how many people are claiming that this tape measurement is good. The plastic stopper wears out and the tape doesn’t stop. This is my 2nd one and it is the same problem. I went with a fatmax and that is a good tape measurement.

I got this for site inspections. The numbers are large so it photographs well. The tape isn't so fat that it is a pain to carry or put in pockets. I can use it while wearing gloves. Fractions of an inch are displayed as well as foot + inch increments.

This Milwaukee digital measuring wheel comes with a lot of features. It includes 2 AAA batteries that, once you figure out how to load them, makes the wheel ready to go. (Some basic instructions would be nice). It is definitely a one hand operation with all the controls within easy reach. The wheel has a telescoping frame which is real convenient. My brother and I both used this wheel to measure for a new fence on his property.

This wheel is very, very accurate. The digital display allows easy saving of distances and measuring. It also allows pausing of measurements which is super convenient if you encounter an obstacle, or need to adjust rolling the wheel for any reason. Beware the kickstand is a bit sticky at first. Seems to loosen up over time. All in all, a great tool for someone needing quick, accurate measurements.

The Milwaukee 12 in. Digital Measuring Wheel is a breeze to use as the large 12" wheel rolls easily over uneven terrain and obstacle interference. Although lightweight for easy carry and storage, the unit performs it's diverse measurement functions well and is designed for easy handling task around the field. The extended handle allows for a comfortable and well controlled rolling height, with quick access to all of the control readings and adjustable functions. Being an electronic device, I'll have extra batteries to ensure my work maintains it's reliability of measurement task!

This is the best appointed and well thought out measuring wheel I’ve owned. The buttons are intuitive, it’s comfortable to use and it rolls easily. I use it for plots to estimate square footage and it seems accurate when I put it against a laser measure and tape. The wheel is well balanced and rolls smoothly over gravel, grass and bumps. It doesn’t have that many memory slots (only 4), but it's enough for what I require. Each memory slot has to be cleared individually, but it’s just a few extra button presses. I still carry a pencil and paper so the kick stand is handy for me to stop and write. When I’m working past dusk, the backlight display keeps me going. Once I’m done working, the telescoping handle breaks it down to a totable size. Another nice Milwaukee tool.

This is much better than a laser range finder outside. Works great on long distances. Measure positive for going forward and negative for going backwards if you make a mistake. Folds up easily for storage. The built in stand can be a little trick to fold and unfold. I used this measuring wheel to quickly measure out distances for my kids archer range. I ordered the Milwaukee 12 in. Digital Measuring Wheel to measure square footage of my house and lot in order to check the veracity of my property tax reassessment. The task would have been onerous using my 100 ft measuring tape and would have required two people. The wheel made the job a snap. The extendable handle was just right for my 6’1” height. It can be easily lowered for shorter users and stowed for compact storage when not in use. The controls are easy to use with one hand, freeing a hand to carry a clipboard for recoding the measurements, and very intuitive. The “kick stand” is very handy. After measuring a length just pop the stand down freeing both hands to record the measurement. The wheel seems sturdy and was easy to roll, although across grass and uneven terrain I found it necessary to go slowly and to apply downward pressure to prevent bouncing. I compared a sample of measurements with my long tape and all were within an inch indoors and most within an inch outdoors (all within two inches); perfectly adequate for my purposes.

This is a very nice digital measuring wheel which can measure up to 99,999 feet. Quite accurate and very well balanced to make it easy to follow perimeters or road lines or simply to keep it straight in the grass or wooded areas. Yes I found it easy to used even in rough woodland measurements, as the wheel was easy to fun it over small branches and tall weeds. The wheel has a nice thick rubber tread which does 2 things: 1) it makes it heavier to make for smoother rolling measurements, and 2) has some give and weight to keep it from bouncing around on rough surfaces. The digital gauge is easy to use and simple, having 4 memory spaces, and selectable meters, meters/centimeters, feet /decimal, and feet/inches. There is a backlight for use if it is dark out, and a simple on and off button. The memory contents are saved between on/off cycles, so to clear them you do need to select each one, then clear it. I find that no big deal. It actually was a joy to use, but I will address the only thing that would make me slightly apprehensive about this: The meter and wheel assembly are both mounted to the adjustable arm via rivets. I would have liked to much more if I could have the ability to tighten up joints, and if ever needed, to remove a part for repair or inspection if needed, without drilling out rivets. I do highly recommend it though, just keep in mind the rivets as the attaching methods. Hey running race directors, here is a good quality race measurer versus having a calibrated bicycle measuring your courses....

This is a very easy to use wheel and has some nice benefits over a manual wheel. What I like best is that I was able to figure every feature on it out in about 5 minutes just by experimenting with it and not even looking at the instructions. And that is how it should be with a tool like this. And Milwaukee nailed it. If it were hard to use what would happen is it would quickly fall out of use and I’d fall back to my manual wheel. About the only drawback is having to keep batteries on hand but I always have those on hand anyway. It remains to be seen how long they will last. It came with some already installed and they are still at full charge according to the charge indicator which is a nice touch. Having the 4 memory selections when laying something out is nice. I laid out some new concrete the other day I’m getting ready to have poured and this is so much better and faster than a tape especially if you are laying something out alone which I was. One thing I like better than my manual one is how this collapses for transport and storage. My other folds while this slides together. Its is easier, stows better and seems sturdier. About the only thing I would change is the battery compartment. I know a screw makes it more secure and more likely to remain sealed but I hate having to dig up a screwdriver t change batteries. It’s just a pet peeve. Granted I always have a plethora of such screwdrivers at hand so it is really not a big deal. I’d just prefer some kind of snap you just press to pop open. That’s just me. Another nice thing is being able to read this one in low light or even in the dark. Hey sometimes the day runs long. About the only time I see myself reaching for my manual wheel now is of the batteries on this one are dead and I’m in a hurry.

This digital measuring wheel is much better than the one that I have been using for years. The large measuring wheel rolls nicely on gravel roads and paved roads. The digital display is easy to read and has three units of measurements, imperial, metric and engineer. The handle is easy to grip and display unit is backlit. The unit stores measurements for future use and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

I just got this item today. Upon opening it, a lot of the markings are almost completely faded and make it hard to read. The first place this starts is around the 3' mark, which is where a lot of measurements are needed.

I love this tape. It is so smooth when extending and retracting the tape. The tape itself Is coated and has easy to read measurements. I prefer Auto-Lock tapes and highly recommend this one if you do as well. The ability to add a lanyard is a nice feature as well. Overall, the tape feels solid and I believe it will hold up very well.

The auto stand out feature does take a little getting used to but performs perfectly and is very convenient when needed. The tape itself is a little flimsy for my taste but is coated and works well. I would recommend this to a friend, especially if you do a lot of framing work.

Robust and precision

Bob running the bandsaw out in the shop says he really likes it. The auto lock is great for measuring long bars.

I really like the auto lock feature on this tape measure. It operates real smooth and you don’t have to lock the tape and release the tape constantly. I also like the way the tape measure is labeled. The 1/8 in scale is nice when measuring short and/or precise measurements. I like that toward the end of the tape it label the tape in inches and also has the foot measurement and inches in red. (See the attachment) I would have given this tape 5 stars but when measuring between trees I pulled it out to far and now it won’t retract. I will have to repair this evening.

Excellent locking mechanism on a very compact 25’ measuring tape. This tape is almost the same size as the Milwaukee 16’ tape but has a whole 25’ of tape wound up in it. The auto-lock mechanism is fantastic, you can pull the tape out and it just stays out as far as you extended it until you press the button to make it retract. This is how all tape measures should work! It has no problem reeling in the tape from it full 25’ extension and it is in fact best to release the button a bit to slow it down when retracting. The tape is marked in 1/16” with the 1/8” marks all labeled. Each inch is labeled in inches and feet and inches. (E.g. 59” 4’11”) Whole feet and multiples of 16” are also highlighted. The tape measure is exacty 3-1/2 inches wide so it is easy to measure internal dimensions by adding 3.5 to the measurement. It is 3” high. The end of the tape is not magnetic. A solid belt clip is provided. There is a place on which to tie a lanyard on the back bottom corner.
