First electric snow blower and I am impressed. Had no problem clearing our driveway and sidewalk of about 10” of snow. Battery life was really good and it is easy to maneuver.

The manufacturer should have been more clear about this machine's snow blowing capability.
It came up short every time it was used because the battery ran out in about 15 minutes.
I had to return it and buy the larger model which has 2 batteries.

A little better than shovelling
I was not expecting something heavy duty, considering the specs. And that is exactly what it is. Great for unpacked snow, but you will not go through the snow bank created by snow plows, or heavy/wet snow. In these conditions, battery life is very short. In unpacked snow, battery life is a little longer, but not quite enough. If your budget permits you something more sturdy, with more power, spend the extra.

I was fortunate enough to have two very different types of snowfall within the first week of owning it: about 8 inches of wet snow and about 2 inches of very light snow. For the wet snow, the snowblower did a surprisingly good job throwing it. However, the chute got clogged every minute or two. For the light snow, it just seemed to push it and didn't throw anything. Was not helpful at all.

Not worth the hassle
I bought this snow blower hoping to save some money and time, but I regret my decision. This product has several flaws that make it frustrating to use.
First of all, the snow gets stuck in the chute very often, especially if the snow is wet or heavy. This means I have to stop and clear the chute manually, which defeats the purpose of having a snow blower.
Second, the snow blower is hard to maneuver on my driveway. It does not have enough power or traction to move smoothly on uneven or slippery surfaces. I have to push and pull it with a lot of force, which is exhausting.
Third, the snow blower sometimes stops working if there is more than a few inches of snow. It seems like the motor or the battery cannot handle the load. I have to wait for it to cool down or recharge before I can resume the work.
Finally, the battery life is very poor. It only lasts for about 15 to 20 minutes, which is not enough to clear my driveway and sidewalk. I have to swap the battery or plug it in several times, which is inconvenient and time-consuming.
Overall, I am very disappointed with this product. It is not worth the money or the hassle. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Big Ryobi fan, but still amazed at the capability!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two stage gas snow blower would not start, so I bought this the night before a major snow event, 12" approx. with some sleet and a bit of rain mixed in, making the snow quite heavy (I believe the term is "widow-maker"). I was a bit apprehensive that my new purchase would be up to the challenge, but NO PROBLEM! Over the next three days we did not get above six degrees but still had more snow and the Ryobi continued to perform.

Not For Seniors
This unit is not really for seniors, you have to push it. Works good in light snow, not as well in heavy snow. It is lightweight which is good. Battery does not last the whole driveway.

Learned my lesson the hard way that battery operated anything does not work in sub zero temps. Had to stop and recharge the battery 4x to clear a relatively small driveway. It would hit an icy chunk, struggle, then run out of juice. Really only works effectively in 3 inches or less.

18" Snow Blower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally got around to using this, did exactly what I hope it would. Ideal for those intermediate snow falls where I don't have to drag out my big gas snow blower. My wife found it easy to use where she would never touch our gas unit

Buy Anything but this Ryobi Unit
The unit will not hold sufficient charge to clean an average driveway with 4" of snow. Instead get the 2-battery unit. However, I cannot recommend this product, as on the 5th occasion of usage, it suddenly stopped working. Only the light will come on and the engine won't start. Many others report the same issue in forums and videos and it seems to be a common Ryobi issue. I didn't have the original receipt, as the issue happened the second year of ownership and Ryobi wont' honor warranty.

Good Cordless Snowblower
The machine is strong indeed. Very easy to install and operate. Also, it's not heavy, my wife can do. On the other hand, battery is about 40 minutes time and run out.
