The paint is OK, but does not have good coverage when sprayed!

Thank you for providing this feedback on our Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Protective Enamel. We expect each gallon to cover between 230-390 ft² with the application thickness, surface porosity, and color all affecting the coverage. Spraying will not reduce the overall coverage, though it is possible to apply the enamel thinner compared to using a brush or roller. This can be prevented by adjusting the sprayer settings, tip size, and speed of the application. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

This paint goes a long way, I used way less than expected. Directions call for a coat of primer so I applied a coat of primer and 3 coats of Rust Oleum Professional Oil based paint. I lightly sanded with 400 grit between coats and the project turned out perfect.

We used this in an exterior setting for cattle fencing in scorching South Texas using a simple sprayer. We wanted a gloss luster, and the paint went on well and evenly and we are happy with our choice.

They are thinning it out too much
I have used this paint for decades and never had an issue. For a long time you could not even get Rust-Oleum paint due to the shortage. Now the 4 gallons that was delivery was extremely thinned out. Its like painting with water.

Thanks for your feedback, David! It's crucial to thoroughly stir the paint prior to use to ensure the pigment is evenly dispersed. For best results, use light, even strokes as excessive brushing reduces film thickness and protection.

The paint was great. But be careful if you have it shipped. Mine came so beat up I could hardly get the cover off. Fortunately the leaking that happened during shipment was minimal.
