    Quality
Great Product, Be Sure to lubricate stem and internal diaphragm with 'key grease' (a plumbers faucet lube) or white lithium grease, for a long life use. It will operate easily and pump your hearts desire- pun intended.

simple, effective, just what I needed
talk about simple (me): I just attached the tube to the nozzle, pulled up on the handle after inserting the base into the backed up dry well, drew up the extra water and expelled it elsewhere. Ta da! Permanent solution to a chronic problem of heavy rain and an old stairwell with a slow drain.

Useful to drain my irrigation well water turn off.

Great for moving water or washing your homebrew equipment.
I probably don't use this like most people. For normal use I drain the 10' pool in my backyard when the weather cools down. Instead of making a huge mess like previous years I was able to water my garden and plants around the house while draining the pool. My wife was happy with the re-use of the water. Most of the time I attach a length of PVC pipe with holes drilled in the side to wash my brewing carboys while I am doing something else. Drop the pump in a bucket and let it run, now I don't ... read more have to spend time scrubbing. With some minor work I adapted keg fittings to the carboy washer and I can also clean kegs with out taking them apart. What a time saver! I have run this pump for hours and hours with no problems, I wish I had gotten one sooner.

    Life saver!
A colleague recommended I check out this pump - what a life saver! I was lugging buckets of water up and down. This? Set it and go! Really helps reduce the heartache of water in the basement-- esp while we figure out a financial plan to put in a basement system.

    Don't Be Without It!
This is a well-made pump. It has an easy to grasp handle on the top, and the hose hookup is vertical (no right angle bend to crack like my old one) and well threaded. This should last years and years based upon the quality construction I have observed. I highly recommend it!

    Great little pump
This is the second one of these that I've purchased with the first one being about 10 years ago and it too is still running today. I've used this pump for flooded basments and draining swimming pools. It's small, well built, and has always worked well.

    Excellent value and performance
I use it to empty water from the top of a pool cover. The "self-priming" claim is a bit misleading: you need to add water to the pump every time you start it. There is a plug on top of the pump that covers the hole for priming the pump. That plug requires a wrench to open and close. A better design for that plug would be a handle so you don't have to carry an extra tool with the pump. Also, an in-line electrical switch would be better than starting the pump immediately when you plug it in. Other ... read more than that, it works and it does its job well.

Great little pump for residential irrigation water management
Ease of portability and strong pressure makes this pump ideal for transferring water between tanks and irrigating landscape plants with hose and spray nozzle. I used readily available , inexpensive PVC pipe and couplings (all at HD) to connect the pump to my pick-up mounted water transfer tank and pump into my large storage tank. When I need pressure for my irrigation hose, I move the pump to the PVC pipe from my large storage tank. It all works with little fuss.

Soooooo much better than the competition
This does what it is supposed to. I had originally purchased a Flo-Tech when a local hardware store folded. I had a bad experience with Flo-Techs, but that was back in the early 80's. Surely they must have improved ..... um, nope. The Flo-Tech worked once. Despite following the instructions regarding lubrication and all, it worked once. Sigh. I needed a small pump for chlorinating a plumbing system and decided to try the Wayne. Clearly this is a better product, right down to the metal castings. ... read more It worked flawlessly. Now the real test- does it still work a month later? And the answer is yes. I'm looking forward to spring when I need to drain a pit and I'm confident this little puppy will handle it with ease.

    Two further thoughts
I left out a vital point in my earlier review. Unlike the competition, the internal parts are replaceable and available, should the need ever arise. So, here we are, almost two months later. Many products work the first time, right out of the box. Yet when you go to use them a few weeks later, they fail. Yesterday I needed to pump out RV antifreeze from a water softener that had been sitting all winter. Dropped the intake hose down into the brine well, plugged in the Wayne and crossed my ... read more fingers. The little sucker primed immediately and happily pumped away, not only the antifreeze, but several gallons more water I poured in to flush the remnants. Gotta say I'm loving this pump.

    Portable Pump does the job
We have used the portable pump 3 times since we received it and it really does a nice job moving the water away from where you need it. The unit is smaller than I thought it would be, but it gets the job done. I do like this small compact size, which makes it easy to transport. We have been using the pump to drain a dry well which holds a Little over 50 gallons of water. My husband made a pvc pipe that is attached to the inlet hose, this allows us to stick the pipe down the well without the hose ... read more curling up inside the tank, to suck the water from the well. This has been working fantastic.

I'll let U know next time my basement floods. I've used one similar to this one years ago (2000), and it saved me a lot of time, as well as back strain.

Great for pumping water off an above ground pool cover.
This pump works great for pumping off my above ground pool cover. I placed it inside a plastic milk crate (helps keep it vertical and easy to move around). In 2 hours it pumped more than 3" deep of water off the 33' diameter pool. I'll keep it stored in the basement to avoid issues with freezing. Seems well built and a reasonable price.

    Works great
This seems to work great so far, pumps good. Just remember, this unit does not come with a shut off, something extra you have to buy, or about to use from a older unit. I seem to buy one every other year, so will see how long this one will last.

Quiet, and does the job. Good value!
Just bought this pump to evacuate water from a flooded playground area. This thing is a champ - plugged it in, and it immediately started pulling water out, despite the mud and wood chips. It's not a firehose, but puts out a reasonable volume of water through the hose. Several hours later, most of the water is gone. And, it's perfectly silent while operating. I'm glad I spent a little more on this pump, rather than an "el cheapo" model.

    Good Little Pump
I bought this ridgid pump just in case of an emergency. We have had tropical type moisture here in the midwest over the past couple summers. I didnt want to get caught unprepared if my lower level patio flooded or if we had a back up in the basement The 20' cord is great which helps out with its portablity It was quiet and efficient through a few test runs Pumped water at very quickly through a 50' garden hose Good solid pump for the price! Warranty seems decent as well!

    Quiet and good warranty
We use this pump every winter and spring for 2 weeks to a time 24/7 to suck up water coming out of our basement drain. It keeps our basement from flooding. It runs with very little water or totally submerged . I am very disappointed our local home depot has stopped selling the RIDGID pumps. I am glad I have another one as back up because I don't want to buy any other brand. I totally recommend this pump.

    1/4 HP Submersible Utility Pump
This pump performed just as it is advertised to do. I used it to empty my pond and swimming pool. Performed very well and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a submersible pump.

Pump is very efficient in draining pools. It saved me alot of hard work. I would recommend this product.

    Tough Pump
I bought this to supplement the one I bought 21 years ago. This is the same pump. The old one is still working after all those years and heavy punishing use. It sits in my pool cover all winter and despite freezing and thawing many times it works like a charm. Even leaves and debris don't phase it. At 1/4 HP it can take a long time to drain flooded pool cover but no other product does the job like this one. It serves my purposes. I don't know what you want it for but if you need a tough long ... read more lasting product this fits the bill.

Powerful pump at a great price
I use this pump several times a month to discharge gray water using an ordinary hose. It removes about 60 gallons in a matter of minutes and has never clogged. You do need to keep an eye on it while it's in operation as it does not have a float switch to turn it off.

    Great Pump for the Price
For my first time use in draining my pool, it did take about 12 hours to drains 17000 gal approximately. That was using the larger 1.25" inch hoses. So not as fast as renting home depots take home pump, but I think over the life of my pool it’s worth it. So I hope it works just as well next time around.

    This pump is great.
I love that when my basement takes in water that it actually sucks the water out so fast and takes it down to about a half and inch to the ground level which I have a sump hole and that is great. I would defiantly recommend this pump. Have used others that were much slower like hours of draining the basement and never took out that much water. So I am very pleased with this product let alone the price blows in store prices away.
