I have fallen in love again!
I price comparison shopped before buying this saw. Every other one that fell within this price range felt cheap, and flimsy. It doesn't matter what brand you buy, you normally have to fine tune them out of the box. This one is no exception. However it is so darn close, it doesn't really matter. I can live with 1/32" off at 90 degrees on a 6" board. I have been wanting a saw of this type for some time, so I could build my new miter station. It is working awesome. Like all chop saws, dust is a ... read more factor, and it is not controllable of where the chips fly. Hence the need for a dedicated station that will use my dust collection system to keep my work area clean.

WEN 15-Amp 10 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw
I've only had it for a short while but it works real good so far, and is light.

    Nice Saw
I would definitely order again however in the future I will have heavy orders like this shipped to store rather than my home. Package arrived damaged while I was at work. The saw had obviously been dropped many times by the UPS impact testing department. The box was falling apart and the saw was falling out with the slides unlocked. Other than some minor cosmetic damage and slight adjustment it was however good to go. The adjustment was easy and the laser was dead on. This is apparently a very ... read more robust saw and if the testing it received in shipment is any indicator should last forever since it will never see that kind of abuse again.

I first purchased a DeWalt saw and upon first checking for square I realized that the fence is out of line with its self. Meaning that a square put on the back will rock. No way to adjust! So I purchased the Makita and it is perfect. Very well made and completely adjustable in every way contrary to the DeWalt. Makita = Professional / DeWalt = low end homeowner use!

    great tool
Accurate out of box, no major adjustments necessary. The dual slide, laser and previous experience with Makita quality are what sold me. I am very happy with this after 6+ months of use. The dual slide glides effortlessly and the quality of cut is perfect. Soft start elimnates any jump what so ever. Great ergonomics and control throughout the cut. The miter adjustment is solid, quick and easy to use and holds dead on between increments when released (tightened). All in all a great feel and ... read more quality tool, I purchased the job site stand with it, couldn't imagine moving around shop without it mounted to stand heavy and bulky to move without the stand.

    Bosch sliding compound saw
Super awesome machine. High quality very accurate. It'll shave a 0/32" of an inch with no problem on a 14" board. I have tried all the sliding saws, Milwaukee, Dewalt, RIDGID, Makita, and none compare the this one. Just spend the $100 on the blade and there will no comparison.

    Best Glide Of All
I have a miter saw, but needed one that had a bigger capacity like the 12" Glide. I looked at all of them and this Bosch beats all the others with the smoothest glide. The others, with the rail glides, all were jerky and needed a good push to get started. The Bosch, with the patented double hinge glide is like cutting warm butter!! And, I noted that some of the others with the double rails were really bad when saw dust got onto the rails and created a movement that was not a "glide". Yes, the ... read more Bosch costs more than the others, but I figure it's not that much over the live of the saw and I look at what my ease of use is and how much I will like using the saw. Factory set up was right on...I only had to adjust the bevel lever tension, it was too tight in my opinion, but a simple nut adjustment fixed it.

Best miter saw on the market
The best feature of this product is that you can set the miter saw flush against the wall. No space is needed behind the saw because there are no slide bars behind it as is the issue with almost all other miter saws. If you have limited space in your shop...this is the saw you want! Very smooth and accurate cuts right out of the box! The Home Depot price was the best I could find out there on the internet.

Its everything that I was looking for and was pleasantly surprised when the stand was more robust than I expected. Overall this buy exceeded my expectations.

    Decent, but sprays sawdust
My unit had a bit of a rough time during shipment, some of the Styrofoam in was encased in had given way but no major damage was done. Despite protective cardboard between the blade and the kerf plate the blade still come into contact with the plate resulting in a few small scratches, but nothing serious. Assembly is minimal - one really just has to learn how to unlock it from its ‘down’ position bring it up into the vertical position, and bolt it to a work surface. That work surface needs to ... read more be pretty large! You need a minimum of 35” front to back, and about 18” width. The miter table lock sticks out another 9” beyond the 35” of table needed. Keep in mind that you need space on either side for the wood you are cutting too. I built a simple bracket for it out of 2x4s and bolted the machine onto the that (see picture). Everything works well, the movement of the cut angles is nice and smooth and easy to change. There is a laser line included and the controls feel natural. The motor is mounted at an angle to allow full 45° cuts both left and right. The laser line starts about an inch from the fence. One issue is that a lot of the wood chips miss the dust collection system. I think this is because the design had to leave an opening for the laser to reach the wood and so a lot of the sawdust hits the laser cover and goes all over place. I removed the dust collecting bag and installed a shop-vac into the dust collector but material comes off the blade so fast it still does not all get collected even with the vacuum running.

    Great workhorse for the price
Don't be thrown off by all the comments about "around the house" usage, this is a perfectly capable shop saw. I haven't experienced any wobble and it seems well built, no cheapo parts that'll snap off on you. It slides out to cut a 12" board with a bit of room to spare and has plenty of power to quickly chew through consistent cuts. There's some mention of the slide action not being smooth, and there is some grit in the slide, but it doesn't have any impact on the work being done, it's not like ... read more you should be making plunge cuts with a miter saw, as long as you're going from full extension to closed there's no issue. The trench depth adjustment is a feature I didn't expect to see either, I haven't found a ton of use for it but thought I'd mention it because it wasn't listed in the features. I wasn't used to a saw that did both left and right bevels so figuring out the zero bevel adjuster took actually reading the manual, but once I did I ran out of complaints, it's a breeze to true it back to zero after a bevel cut.

    Great saw for the money
I bought this saw on sale, and was a little nervous, not being real familiar with Wen. I do not regret it for a second. I needed a new saw like this, because I bought another house and gutted it to the studs, so I was starting from the ground up. I has not been disappointed in the least so far. I would highly recommend this saw for anyone looking to get something to use for around the house and the occasional wood working project.

Good Piece of Equipment for the Price Paid
The equipment worked right out of the box, and no calibration was necessary, and is perfect for those non-professionals who do a lot of woodworking around the house. It comes with a general purpose blade, so one will have to purchase a 60 or 80 tooth blade if doing trim work. Finally, the LED worklight system is a better value for those wanting precision cuts than the laser system, which requires frequent calibration. The only negative I can think of is that some of the attachments are rather ... read more pricey, and not easily found. For example, the DW7082 Vertical Clamp is out of stock in 80% of the dealers I researched and runs in the area of $50.00, including shipping. Typical clamps hanging around in the shop are not easily used, due to the housing of the unit.

    Rock solid
I've burned up more miter saws than most people will own. They're used in a light manufacturing environment and most simply aren't up to hundreds of cycles per day. Although I would've preferred a sliding saw for flexibility to do those odd projects, after playing with the saws in the store, I conceded that I couldn't get the rock-solid stability in a sliding saw that I found in this saw. No side-to-side flex, no blade wobble, no cheap blade guard mechanisms...all just solid. The gears are very ... read more quiet too. My last saw growled like an angry badger. If you need a saw that does exactly what it's supposed to do without compromise, every time, get this saw. It's a little more expensive, but worth it, if you can afford it.

This is a great saw, right out of the box
I wavered back and forth over this model or others and am very happy with my choice. Easy to use, accurate, solid, reasonable price. I'm old school, don't need or want a laser or other stupid do-dad. Bring the saw down, line up the cut and you have a clean quick cut. Made my own workbench to support it and love my new shop.

    All around great saw
I was looking for a miter saw, and then we got this one at work. After using it a few times, I had to get one. Its highly portable, light weight, and still has the capabilities of a much larger saw. The dual sliding arms allow for large cuts on a small saw. Overall, I am very happy with this saw, and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a compound miter saw.

    A nice compact miter saw
I like this unit because it's light weight (portable) and can cut most any piece of wood stock commonly encountered. Does a nice job cutting aluminum stock too.

    good saw for the money
Out of the box accurate.45's and 22 1/2's. Con is that the dust collection system is undersized. I needed an adapter to get from the 1" discharge to my 2-1/2" dust collection hose. With the 1" discharge, the bag is small and doesn't work very well collecting dust. Even with the dust collection hose attached, the 1" hole is too small to collect the dust and it falls underneath the saw. Makita should re-design the system to accommodate a 2-1/2" discharge opening and a larger dust collection bag ... read more for a cleaner operation.

Makita makes great saws and provides nice blades too
Got this to replace a Ridgid 12" slider that was OK but took up too much space, My most used material is 1"x 6" which this saw can cut 3 at a time with ease. Also have a 10" Makita that I really like which is why I decided to try this 12" one. Both saws came with fine blades which is also a plus. There is something about these saws that is hard to describe other than to say they just feel right for me.
