    Smooth and Sturdy
This saw replaced an old Rockwell 9" saw that I bought in 1981 that had a stamped steel table and wings. So the Delta 36-5100 is a big leap from that. Assembly and Alignment, The assembly took a few hours over a couple of days when I had time to work on it. Here are a few observations that I came across and aren't in the documentation. - When installing the fence rails make sure the rails are up against the gauge. If they are low at all the fence will drag on the table and not move ... read more smoothly. - There are 4 locations were the trunions bolt to the table (picture included) loosen these to align the blade to the miter slot. - There are 4 set screws included that screw into the cast iron wings to adjust the outside edges of the wings to level with the table. There is a note about this with the instructions, but I didn't see it until I was done with assembly. - don't forget to remove the styrofoam block that is supporting the motor for shipping. DADO NUT not needed, Online you will find that there was/is a special ARBOR NUT needed to use a dado blade, and this may have been true on earlier models. It is no longer needed and my order was cancelled because it was unavailable. The last paragraph of the instructions state to remove the flange washer if your dado stack is to wide to use it and just use the nut. It appears that originally the nut and flange were made together and that is why you needed the special dado nut. Shipping an Delivery. I chose to have my saw delivered to Home Depot and pick it up there. When the box was brought to the counter ( on a pallet with a fork truck ) the box was upside down on the pallet and had been turned over somewhere between the factory and Home Depot. The rip fence is in a separate box and the end was torn off of it. It all looked OK so I excepted it and headed home. The only issue I found was the rip fence scale had a couple of spots that the marks were chipped off. Delta is supposed to send me a new scale, but I haven't received it yet. Overall I am very happy with the saw and I think it will last for a long time.

    A very fine table saw
I looked for the right table saw for a few years, as I quietly saved up HD gift cards through a couple of rounds of Birthdays/Xmas'/etc... If you have every family member give you a card to the same place for each holiday, you can end up with a very fine tool, at no cost to yourself! I was poised to purchase the Steel City Granite topped 10" saw, as I live in an area that is more humid than not. Then these new Delta's popped up, and were being offered at a very nice introductory sale ... read more price... It was just too good to pass up, and I'm glad I didn't! I've since set up the saw, and really could not be happier with it. It is quiet, smooth, accurate, and very finely manufactured. I have yet to truly fine tune it for furniture making, but it was ready to go out of the box for high quality general carpentry. Oh, and the nickel on it's side video... that's a thing, and it is awesome! My only real critique is that the angle of the fence cannot be adjusted, so squaring is left solely to blade adjustment... Also, and this is why I give a 4 on quality, one of the cast iron wings was a little warped coming out of the box: about 3/32" across the width of it's face... If you are looking for a life long saw, then this appears a good choice. There really is very little left to desire: It assembled well (you will be best off with a second pair of hands for this. Takes ~ 2 hrs), the dust collection is very solid, and it's wheel mechanism makes for excellent and easy movement around the shop. The price I paid was a real steal, but it is worth every penny of it's standard price, as well. Enjoy it! You won't regret it.

    Good Saw Poor Instuctions
The saw is very heavy and it should be. I purchased this over the Lowes version because of the single rail, more HP, and the cast iron wings. Instructions are terrible of course anyone with half a brain can figure them out... however an example is that it refers to the screws for the rails in bag "F" well there is no bag F, the bolts were in bag "E". Takes about 4 hours to put together and I did it by myself. Factory aliment is off on EVERYTHING. I expected the fence to be off, however the saw ... read more is off to the miter slot and the manual shows no instructions on how to adjust it. It's so bad from the factory that with the fence adjusted and square a 6' board is 1/8 of an inch off from one end to the other. I know how to adjust it but it will take a bit of time as I have to take things apart to get there. The manual says the "bevel stops are adjusted at the factory to 0 and 45 and should not need adjusting but checked from time to time"... they were both way off and I had to adjust those too. Oh how I want to make this a 5 star review because I like this.. but I can not when they send something out of square such as the motor to the table, then give no instructions on how to square it. It's is quiet and very vibration free that is very positive. Don't know how accurate it is yet because I have not completed adjustments. What is so odd my old Ryobi BT3000 that I had for 10 years that I upgraded to this from was square right out of the box.

    Great saw!
I went with the dewalt 10 in compact saw for a few reasons. I don't have much room in my garage for extra tools and the compact size sold me on this particular saw. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't need to make any adjustments to the blade or the fence out of the box. The rack and pinion fence is very accurate and the fence stays in place. The stock blade works great for my plywood and Mdf projects. I haven't used this saw for harder and heavier woods like oak and hickory yet but ... read more it works great for my smaller nightstands and other small projects. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a sturdy accurate portable saw

    Great Table Saw
I am very happy with this saw. The setup directions weren't very clearly written, but once I got it assembled, it was very easy to use. The saw provides precise measurements and clean cuts. I made the artist's pencil box shown in the photos.

Eight years and still going strong!
Eight years ago i bought this saw because i was tired of the junk fences on the cheaper saws. Its been worth every penny! I dont usually waist my time writing reveiws, but when a saw stands up to eight years of trim carpentry and floor instalations, you should tell people. The fence is spot on, put it on an inch it cuts an inch and SQUARE to the blade every time with no tinkering. Its light and easy to unload and load. Perfect saw for Trim carpenters and field work. If you cut a lot of sheet ... read more goods buy the bigger one, it has larger fence capacity. The only thing that could be better is the plastic wheel that turns the blade up and down. Its flimsy. Otherwise, 2 thumbs up!

    Very Nice Machine
Newly retired, I bought this compact saw for my limited space saw shop. This saw has great features like the tracked fence, easy blade adjustment, simple blade guard with anti kickback and a nice safety switch. All in all this machine is nicely designed and well built. The fence is way superior to other saws I looked at in this price range and even much higher priced. After 15 years in construction I spent the last 20 years teaching Building Trades at a Texas high school. I have used the finest ... read more table saws on the market and this DeWalt 745 saw delivers for what I need now. And, it's light enough for me to move around, no problem. I recommend this saw.

    Amazing tool
This is absolutely the best table saw I have ever owned. The fact that it is mobile and extremely easy to store is one of the biggest perks for me. I have limited work space so I frequently pull a lot of my wood working tools out of the shop before use. this table saw is an excellent addition to my collection. In order to collapse the table saw it takes a simple push of a lever from your foot and the same to stand it back up. No hassle! The table saw itself works better than expected and I ... read more have already used it multiple times with absolutely no complaints.

Great saw, forget the lifetime warranty
This saw was actually a replacement for another saw that I had purchased from Home Depot. Unfortunately I never registered the product for to get the lifetime warranty. Watching the sales I finally bought my replacement and diligently went to the Ridgid website to register. The short version is that it is brain tar to register and I was denied warranty completion and told an extensive, tedious process to follow to complete the process. I don't have a lot of time to devote to this sort of thing ... read more so I weighed the risk and I am rolling the dice. Great saw, forget getting the warranty that they talk about.

This dewalt table saw will meet and exceeds anyones needs!
This table saw I purchased a few months ago has proven its durability and performance all around. It has cut through anything i have put in its way and has great power. Love the rack and pinon fence adjustment system. Dewalt is the only power tool i would purchase. Thanks again for the excellent product!

    Love it!
I'm a weekend project guy, not a pro by any means, but this is the best saw I've used. Love the fence system!! The soft start is nice. Trued up easily with minimal tweak age out of the box. Dropped $120 on supplemental blades but haven't used them yet; got nice finish cuts with the stock blade on 3/4 birch ply and 3/16 lauan ply, and that was after a few cuts on fiber cement board. I'm one very happy customer.

Accurate, easy to use portable table saw
I will echo the experiences of the other users. I got it on black friday at Home Depot 2 years ago and have used it quite a lot. The cuts are accurate and the table is flat. The only minus I can find are the table is somewhat loud and the blade has no brake. I like the folding stand.

This saw has met and exceeds my expectations.
Product is compact and light weight, yet provides sufficient work space. It is capable of performing cross and rip cuts with ease. Setup and breakdown is very simple and storage features are convenient. My initial impression of this saw is positive and I am pleased that I purchased this DeWalt 10 inch portable table saw.

    So far so good
Used saw few times, works well. Setup straight forward - read and follow instructions. Factory calibration close, but be sure to check these steps. I cut laminate board - no chipping. If want high portability get the roll stand but for place in shop or garage scissor stand helpful.

    Dewalt 10" table saw
My only complaint is the blade angle adjuster. The operation of the adjuster is a little fiddly if you need a precise angle. Many saws have the same design. You release the lock/lever, move it with the lock/lever to the desired angle and hope it doesn't move as you lock it. All other aspects of the saw are GREAT. It is so much better than my old Craftsman table saw, wish I replaced it years ago.

    Best I've worked with,,,!!!
I burned up two Orange ones before I said "NO MORE". Wasn't worth the 50 miles I had to drive for repair of lifetime warranty. Then comes the Bosch and the rest is history. I put a 60 tooth Bosch blade on it and it's been a power house. Has ripped everything I've put through it, and I live in hardwood country. I'll admit that the sawdust port could be more efficient but no portable saw is great in that area. I'm more concerned with the motor performance and consistency. Solid built and easy to ... read more transport. Every carpenter should have a good broom for saw dust,, and it makes plenty. I would buy another one tomorrow if this one quit today. etc., etc.,.. This was my first Bosch power tool but it won't be my last. It costs a few more dollars but "it works" and you don't waste time driving back and forth to the "lifetime warranty" fix it store. Highly recommend this saw to anyone.

    An excellent product !!
I had to leave my woodworking shop behind when we moved and down-sized. I researched long for a portable table saw that was a quality product, would perform well, and would be easily stored in a reasonably compact fashion. I recently purchased the Bosch saw, and I couldn't be more pleased, given the flexibility of it. It is of excellent quality, easily assembled initially, performs well, and is readily stored in an easy folding maneuver to a compact size. The Bosch folks obviously did their ... read more homework in designing and building this portable tool !!

    No More Looking!
As contractors, we use this saw everyday. We build everything from decks, additions, cabinets and furniture. This is the only table saw we have used for the past 5 years. For accuracy, power, versatility, convenience, and reliability, you need not look any further. BUT....just to make sure, Ive been reviewing all the portable saws currently on the market before I head to the store to buy one for my own personal use. Comparing my own experience with all the reviews Ive read on this and other ... read more saws, Im convinced there is no better choice when compared on equal grounds. So, Ive got my boots on and money in hand. Just wanted to post this before I took off.

Good features, great mobility, attachments go on and come off easily. Could use better organized instructions on use.
I received this saw five working days after ordering on line. Went to my local Home Depot in another town to pick it up and everything went very smoothly. It took a little while to put everything together with the rolling stand the longest. The instructions sent with it could be a little vague if you don't have some mechanical ability but was overall for me not a problem. Mine came pretty well adjusted on everything from the factory. A couple of tweeks and it was perfect for me. I haven't used ... read more it a lot yet, but will be starting some large projects shortly. I did run it through all the practice cuts, angles etc. to check it out, and everything works as advertised. I replaced the 24 tooth blade that came with it, to a Diablo 50 tooth combination blade that I purchased when I picked the saw up. Will update this review in a couple of weeks after running it through the mill for awhile. Overall I don't see any problems arising that can't be adjusted easily. The rolling stand is an excellent feature of this set-up. It is very solid and well built. Everything on this stand works easily and quickly.

Build quality and best in class engineering
These days paying a premium doesn't guarantee you'll receive a good product. Fortunately this is not the case with this DeWalt table saw. The build quality is second to none and after one use you'll know a lot of thought went into the design. Cuts are smooth and fast and measurements are a breeze. This saw will definitely compensate for its user's lack of skill and experience (which is important for me).

    Decent Product
I initially purchased this product for the purposes of doing some home wood working, but was a little annoyed with all of the adjustments that needed to be made out of the box. For example, the gauge needed to be reset to 0 and the saw blade had to be calibrated to be 90 degrees. This is the second power too that I have purchased from Dewalt that had this issue. I wish they would calibrate these items before they shipped from the factory. It would probably take them a few minutes.
