Can I rent a tool for a day?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you select a van.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
