Not sure I totally understand your question. If the PVC vent pipe is leaking I assume it is because it is cracked in a place above the roof. If the crack is in the attic, your only problem would be the venting of sewer gasses into the attic. If leaking from a place above the roof (quite often from the neoprene seal attached to the PVC pipe close to the roof line) then you will need to utilize a 4" roof Read More

If the crack is in the attic, your only problem would be the venting of sewer gasses into the attic. If leaking from a place above the roof (quite often from the neoprene seal attached to the PVC pipe close to the roof line) then you will need to utilize a 4" roof jack that includes a flashing base. This "complete" roof jack should slip over the entire vent and existing seal with the upper portion of the square or hexagon flashing base slid under the first or upper row of shingles. This should eliminate all routes for water to leak into your attic. Read Less

Be sure to firmly attach to prevent the cap from sliding down and reducing the exhaust volume. Please call out Technical Services Group at 800-211-9612, M-F 8-5 ET, with any assistance needed.

I have found a cover for the 3" pipe but also need 2- 1and1/2" covers and 1- 2" cover. Home Depot does not carry either. The cover style I'm looking for resembles a canopy. Anyone know of a supplier in or close by Midlothian, Va. ?

No, Our smallest cover is the VC3 (3"). Have you considered wrapping the 1 1/2 inch pipe with a cork tape or similar product then attaching the 3" cover ? Please call Technical Services at 800-211-9612 with any additional help or questions, M-F 8A-5P EDT.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by vent cover It is supposed to fit on a pipe with ID of 3 inches while it is made for a pipe with 3 inch OD. What is stupidity; we had to cut and fit and it is not a good fit but how can we deal with it otherwise when HD does not like returns. I have 3 itrms unused and they refuse to take them back. huh September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repair of damaged, lead roof jacks For repair of small, lead roof jacks that have been chewed on by squirrels. If there is no damage below the top couple of inches of the vent, just slide the roof jack over the existing lead seal and the repair is done. If the squirrels have chewed on the lead further down the side, cut a piece of flashing and wrap around the vertical lead and pipe. Slip and tighten a radiator hose clamp over the lower portion of the flashing to hold the bottom of the flashing tight to the existing roof jack. If the flashing touches the inner top edge of the roof jack, cut "V" notches out of the top edge of the flashing to insure adequate venting. Squirrels will not chew on the metal roof jack, flashing or hose clamp so this is a permanent fix. December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BBQ Mod a nice modification for my bbq grill ... keeps rain out August 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3 IN. VENT CAP I bought this for a pipe vent that never had a rain cover on it. Every time it rained straight down, my bathroom which did not have any outside vent in it got soaked from water dripping into the attic from that pipe. I had a little trouble getting it to fit but It worked great . We have had record rains and no more wet attic . Cheap and easy. August 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the money They work great...only problem was one of them must have been made on a Monday or Friday...it was missing all the rivets that hold the top on. July 18, 2012
