Customer Questions & Answers

The 3" perforated white pipe has holes not centered. Do the holes sit to the lower part of the pipe when installed or to the upper part?

Asked by: Frisch
The pipe should be placed with the holes facing down with the bottom centered between the holes. This is best used resting on the hard pan which adjoins the footings. The crushed stone will be on top. With this setup my drain removes over 200 gallons per day during spring thaw and runoff.

Are there couplings for this product?

Are there 90 degree elbows, or 45 degree that attach for bending around corners?
Asked by: swingin
There are multiple fitting options available. You can search "Styrene" to pull many of them up.

Is it flexable?

Can you bend this stuff 90 degree? Thanks.
Asked by: swingin
This pipe will flex slightly which is helpful if your trench is not perfectly straight. I recently was able to flex / bend it about 6", but you are not getting much more than that out of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Go with the 4" perforated drain pipe instead 1) This pipe does not fit with any other pipe, including 3" pvc pipe, nor do any other pvc parts fit it. It is actually slightly smaller than 3" in diameter, so that it sits inside a 3" pvc coupler with about 1/2" to spare all around. It will fit only with other pipes exactly like it. 2) This pipe is made of thinner, lighter, less durable material than regular pvc pipe, so that it cannot be expected to endure the crushing load of soil and rock above it as well as regular 4" pvc drain pipes. 3) Use instead the 4" perforated pipes, which fit with other 4" pvc pipes, couplers, elbows, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my French Drain project!!! I bought four 10 ft pieces for my French Drain project. We had a drainage and flooding problem in the backyard. And before the rainy season started, we wanted to tackle this to avoid all the headaches. These pipes click right into each other and were easily installed. I just used duct tape to securely stick 2 ends together. PS Don't forget to buy the socks and angled parts ahead of time!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK FOR CERTAIN APPLICATIONS This is the drain pipe for a field with lateral branches. For straight runs, I would use corrugated perf pipe with a filter sock included. It is much stronger and more flexible and easier to install. This pipe is flimsy and would not be suitable in a shallow trench with high compression traffic. However, it can be used with thin wall pvc fittings, so branches and offsets will be quick and easy. Much better than the connections available for corrugated pipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pipes were nice, Delivery service not so much I purchased 7 pipes, and they were bundled together before I came to pick them up. Regarding the pickup, I was not notified by my local HD when they arrived, apparently they did not show up with any papers. I had to call, describe the purchase order, and then they figured out the pipes were mine. The pipes were in good shape, though scuffed up and a little dented here and there because the bundle was exposed. The 3 inch pipes fit with other standard 3 inch fittings, and my french drain turned out ok in the end.
