Answer:
All radiant barriers should be installed on the WARM side of the assembly. In cold climates, this would be the inside of the wall or attic. In warm climates, this is the outside.

Yes, as you would with common OSB, just making sure that the shiny surface is facing down.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff works I was reluctant to try this product for my roof and gables. I figured it was nothing more than Just building industry hype, but I gave it a shot on a small shed project. And what do you know, this stuff really really works. The shed is 100x cooler, (exaggeration) even in winter with this hot Deep south sun. on these "mild" days of 75 degrees or more. I was surprised. The panel is fairly cool to the touch while the rest of my OSB sheathing is warm to the touch under this sun. I am building my house and this will be used all over the roof. March 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tech shield really does seem to work House uses plain 7/16" OSB decking with a standard gray 3 tab shingle, one layer, tar paper underlayment. Underside of OSB with good venting runs 120~130F in full sun, air temps in the 90s. Used Tech Shield on new detached garage with same color and type of shingle, underlayment, similar venting, exterior air temps low/mid 90s. Underside temps run mid-high 90s with only the ridge beam running 100+. New house next door used Tech shield - laser temp survey during the 2011 summer build also showed 20~30F reduced underside temps. May 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You will never deck a roof with anything else again!!! Techshield radiant barrier on this OSB is a no brainer for anyone re-doing a roof or siding, or building a new home or garage. When compared to conventional OSB there must be at least 25 degrees difference between the old OSB and the Techshield. If you are not cooling your garage (I live in southcentral Texas) you will definitely feel a difference with this product. I keeps the heat out of your attic in the summer and helps hold it in in the winter. July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot has Great Service The Home Depot has great prices, delivers what you order when they say they will, and are friendly to boot. What more could you ask for? If anybody knows it is me. I've been a roofing contractor for 31 years. August 30, 2010
