Answer:
YES! As long as they are medium base. I use HUE smart LED bulbs in 18 of these, hidden, for indirect light.

Answer:
No, because of several reasons:
1- 75watt is the max labeled for safety approval.
2- A 100 watt bulb generates enough heat, you should use a ceramic socket. This clamp light does not have a ceramic socket.
Suggestion: use a 100 watt equivalent LED light that actually draws 22 watts. It runs cool, draws considerably under the rated 75 watts, lets outputs 100 watt equivalent lumens (light).

Answer:
The 75 watt rating is due to heat output of the bulb. Use a 100 watt equivalent LED bulb instead.

Answer:
This light is rated to handle up to a 75 watt bulb. If you want to use a higher watt bulb, please look at purchasing Home Depot SKU 277894. You can use up to a 150 watt bulb in that model.

Answer:
You do NOT need a ceramic socket for 75 watt bulbs and lower. At 100 watts and above, bulbs heat up and the purpose of a ceramic base is just to protect from the heat of the bulb.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is great for warming small chicks and keets. Clamp it on the side or top of the cage and the heat of the bulb will keep them warm. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I wish I could give 6 stars I work on cars every day. These things are awesome!!! I got two, and installed the led flood lamps you get in a two pack. The led bulbs are tough and take a beating give off about 80watts of light but it only uses about 20watts. So when I clamp these to the car hood with a rag to prevent scratches. they can be 2 feet away and don't cook me. I wish I could attach a picture because words don't do these justice. I have thrown out every other drop light I own and plan on buying more of these. July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Inexpensive fixtures provide extensive options Each year our nonprofit arts organization has a silent auction fundraiser at a historic plantation home in Arkansas. There are a lot of dark spaces to show a lot of art. These clamp lights are great for clamping onto all sorts of things from window shutters to ceiling vents and they can be angled every which way. I even clamped two and three together in a couple tight spots to light up multiple pieces in one area. By playing with different small spot and floodlights of various strength the show was successfully lit and then we pack them away for the next event. Home Depot had the best price on them, too. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works The product works for my needs in my lab at work... August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Clamp Light at a Good Price Unlike another review that states the aluminum reflector is flimsy, the reflector/shield on the clamp lights that I received (picked up in the store) are very well made. They have ventilation holes at the base and a rolled edge at the front. They are strong and not easily bent. We use these for work lights on various power machinery (lathes, mills, etc.). We use LED spotlights and the reflector/shield works great to protect the bulb from any side impact. The 75 watt rating is not correct. The sticker on the unit says 60 watts maximum. April 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Warning: This is only a 60W lamp I am rating this Poor and not recommending this product only because Home Depot has rated this lamp incorrectly. This is not a 75W lamp. It is only a 60W lamp. It states that right on the lamp and also on the attached description. Using anything over 60W will work, however you will slowly burn up the lamp contacts. March 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Versatile Clamp Light; Superior to those I bought from a competitive big box store previously. I admittedly have a most unique use for this clamp light. I just bought 12 more. I sit these clamp lights above office furniture - you cannot see them because the furniture has a tall wood lip in the front. I install HUE lights in each clamp, then control them by the HUE app to automatically call up scenes, depending on the time of day. For example, earning morning light; afternoon light. They serve the purpose very well, and the 6 foot cord is a real plus!! February 10, 2016
