Customer Questions & Answers

can it be used under a concrete patio or will it get crushed by the weight?

Asked by: AALOO
UL Listed LFNC-B is approved for direct burial and embedment in concrete. If the raceway is not embedded in the concrete but is under the concrete, the required burial depth is covered in Section 300.5 of the National Electrical Code.

Can this be use for the power lines/feed to an outside ground unit air conditioner?

The air conditioner currently has an all metal conduit about 5 feet long that needs to be replaced because of corrosion. I thought this might last longer. And what end fittings would I use? Thanks.
Asked by: noon
Answer #1: Yes, Non-Metallic Liquidtight Conduit LFNC-B can be used indoor or outdoor for air conditioning and HVAC units. Note: the following should be considered. 1.) Fill Rate or maximum number of conductors or Fixture Wires in Electrical Nonmetallic Tubing, found in ANNEX C Table C5 of the NEC 2.) Type of conductor being used 3.) Ensure conductor meets AWG size Ampacity requirements. Question #2: Answer #2: Fittings that are approved to be used with LFNC-B Conduit

Will my dog be able to chew thru this easily

Asked by: Aimer
The NEC and the UL listing for Non-Metallic Liquidtight (LFNC) does not permit its use where subject to physical damage. Since this is a flexible PVC, this could be chewed through by an animal.

Customer Reviews

1/2 in. x 25 ft. Non-Metallic Liquidtight Conduit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient for DIY projects requiring flexible conduit I used this conduit to run some outdoor ethernet cables for security cameras. The ethernet cable was outdoor rated, but I wanted to run it in something to provide some degree of protection from tampering or vandalism. This conduit works great. It's very easy to work with, measure, cut, and install. I use the HDX Ratcheting PVC Cutter to cut the conduit, making cuts quick, easy, and clean. I have used this with the Southwire brand connectors that are stocked at my store since they are smaller than the equivalent Arlington liquid-tight connectors. The connectors are incredibly easy to use with this conduit and have worked great. The only minor issue is the bend that stays in the conduit from being wrapped up in a roll. I was able to rotate it when installing it to get the bends in the right direction, but I had to use several conduit straps to wrangle it in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easier than conduit Weather tight flex is excellent for installations requiring multiple bends - eliminates most fittings and pre-formed bends. Connection fittings are expensive though.
