Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet compressor but no reviews anywhere I saw this compressor and was immediately drawn to it with its level of quietness. Everyone is bragging about their compressor being quiet at 67 db, 60 db, etc., but this one is 49db! It is quiet, and would probably work great for very small items, but I seriously doubt it meets the specs that it publishes. I am going to post a video I took of this compressor online (don't want to put the name of the video site, so the review doesn't get flagged, but I am sure you can figure it out). The video will show how quiet the compressor is compared to a very similarly sized and specified other unit that I have, but the other one completely kicked its but in performance. The specs of the 2 are very similar, with the other being a little bit better, but in performance, there was no comparison. I didn't time how long it took the compressors to meet their shut off point, but the Husky hit 150 PSI about a minute before the Quiet zone hit 100psi (its shut off point). Also, I bought 3 of these units, intending to use one for work and 1 for home and one for my dad as a gift, but I am only going to keep 1 unit for home as a back up as I am about to explain. Unit 1- This one worked great in performance but fell apart the first day. After cycling a few times, when the compressor would hit its cut out point and shut off, the air would leak back out of the blow off valve. not only that, but it also leaked out of the intake for the compressor piston. Also, when the compressor went to kick back on, the back pressure still on the piston kept it from powering up. #2- This unit worked pretty well, but the drain valve on the bottom of the tank had messed up threads and could not be rotated by hand. #3 worked out well and I am keeping it. Performance- from 0 psi to 100 #1- 2:54 #2- 3:22 #3- 3:44 Unfortunately the one with the best performance, hands down, was the one that blew out right away. Hopefully the one I am keeping will work out well for the light items I have around the house, and that they will stand behind the 5 year warranty if not. December 3, 2012
