On the spec sheet there is a 3/4" dimension from the finished floor to the inside of toilet. See attached picture circled in red. Is this the max dimension of the flange flange height from the finished floor? I ask because my flange sits a bit high and I am unable to adjust due to the layout without having to make major changes. Thanks

Answer:
We see that on the spec but if your flange is above the finished floor…this will not allow enough wax to hold the seal between the flange and the base flange…it will be spread to thin. If you cannot alter the flange they would have to shim the entire toilet higher to compensate. All of our toilets are like this…some with even less space. Flange has to be flush with finished floor.

Bathroom door barely clears our current toilet. We have to get a toilet that doesn't come out as far. Can anyone give the actual length of the toilet from the back of the tank (or the wall) to the front edge of the toilet? (The one we have is 30.5 inches. We need to cut back at least 1-2 inches.)

I cannot find the locking mechanism. The white round part spins and moves up and down millimeters, but doesn't release the valve body stem.

Customer Reviews

H2Option 2-piece Siphonic 1.6/1.0 GPF Dual Flush Round Front Toilet in White is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 364.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great toilet! BUY ONE! I wasn't there when it was assembled, so I have no idea about the ease of installation. You can ignore my review of that, but I got no complaints from the plumber. I bought this toilet to replace one that has been clogging my entire life. This one is amazing. I have been using it for only two months so far, but I have rarely ever had to use the heavier flush. The one gallon flush works for everything. Fantastic! It is very quiet, too! Americans would save so much water if everyone owned one of these. It also fits in my small bathroom nicely. I have never written a review of anything before, but I went online to praise this toilet!

We had it professionally installed. We have had nothing but problems with this toilet. It worked adequately for about a year and now it rarely flushes everything down which makes it quite hard to clean. We've only had it for two years. I am replacing it with a single flush toilet. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You're Gonna Love This Toilet ! We've been using this toilet for over a month now and are very pleased with its performance. It uses only 1.0 gallon per flush for most waste. Only rarely do we need to use the 1.6 gallon button. The bowl also stays much cleaner than the old toilet, as the porcelain finish in the bowl is very smooth. The flush buttons are located on the tank lid. To flush, just press the button and hold for a count of two. The tank is smaller than the old toilet tank, and sits about 3"-4" below the counter top of the vanity. It takes a little bit to get used to the smaller tank footprint, but does make the space seem a little larger. The only con I can think of is our magazines need to find another home....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from American Standard H2Option I purchased 2 H2Option dual flush toilets a couple of years ago and after one year, both toilet valves needed to be replaced. One year after replacing both toilet valves, one of the toilet valves began to leak water again and I had to replace a second valve for one of the toilets. These are not valves you can find at any hardware store. American Standard customer service was very helpful and great to work with and replaced all the valves at no charge. But my concern is about the quality of valve and why are they needing replacement in such a short period of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good performance so far, small size We have a second bathroom tucked under the roof upstairs that had an old toilet that not only used a lot of water, but would often need more than one flush. I had used one of these at a friend's house, and liked the idea of being able to flush with a smaller amount of water when possible. Most of the time, the low-volume flush is all you need anyway. It installed easily and looks great. In the small space, it seems to take less room than the old one. We bought it online because this exact model wasn't listed as available at our local Home Depot, but when visiting the store later, there were mighty similar models that may have been the same, only with accessories (seat, wax ring) *included* in the box. We used our old seat, and I had to buy a new wax ring. If I had to do it again, I think I'd buy the one locally, because the total price was a bit less than the online price, even with the extras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from American Standard Dual Flush Toliets - Great! I have three of these Toilets in my home and my wife and I have enjoyed them very much. So I purchased two of these for my Son's home. I inadvertently ordered ROUND and meant to order ELONGATED. But the Round will work. I was not aware that they did not include Toilet Seats. So I purchased BEMIS Toilet Seats at Home Depot that feature "Always Tight" and "Whisper Close". I was so impressed with the BEMIS Toilet Seats that I purchased three for my home in addition to the two for my Son's Toilets. We had a Plumber install the two new Toilets. I installed the Seats. The Seats were a breeze to install and have some awesome features when it comes to the Always Tight and Whisper Close features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient delivery & attractive The dual flush works great. Easy to install. My wife has commented a couple of times on how much she likes it. Had to purchase all parts separately. Would have been more convenient to just order the complete kit like the store normally carries. Manufacturer included wrong bolt & nut, and had to visit store to get free set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my purchase First let me say, I felt like I went a little crazy on the research end for a new toilet. I realized several months ago that my old toilet was using a ton of water. I made some assumptions and calculated the cost to "operate" my old toilet verses getting a new, more water conscious toilet. I was able to determine that it would be in my best interest to invest in a new toilet and that it would pay for itself reasonably quickly (within a year to a year and a half.) With that being said I looked at 1.6, 1.27, and dual flush toilets. And I considered the replacement parts over time. My research said that there was little difference between a 1.6/1 dual flush and a 1.27 flush. The water savings between the two was insignificant based on a review based out of CA. So the more reasonable response from someone that is money conscious would have been to go with the 1.27 flush toilet, as the parts and overall cost was quite reasonable. However the flashy and novel dual flush got the better of me (that and I thought the kids would get a kick out of saving Dad a buck and the novelty of pushing the #1 or #2 button). I had the unit delivered to my house. UPS dropped it off in two boxes and was in perfect condition. Installation was typical for a toilet. I went with a wax-less ring from fluidmaster. I also purchased a self closing seat, because I was tired of the midnight toilet slam. All in all, I am happy with the toilet. You can flush just about everything down with the #1 flush. Toilet bowl stays cleaner longer than my old one did. I have had it 2 months and am very pleased. My only question at this point is how long the extra parts are going to work properly in the tank. I had fun with this project.
