Answer:
dawa,
We do not recommend using it for two different uses. The systems water flow is about 0.5 gallons per minute. If it is set up to used for use in two areas, one is more probable to suffer from slow water flow.

Answer:
Rick,
Yes, it is possible. However, the better option would be to install the 1-Stage system and use it for just the refrigerator. It's smaller, more compact and it would be a better fit for filtering water through your ice maker. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Aquasana-1-Stage-Under-Counter-Water-Filtration-System-with-Chrome-Finish-Faucet-THD-5100/207172355

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Filter and Easy Install Just got this the other day, took about 30 minutes to install, all the pieces were correct and everything went together very easy. No leaks or anything, worked perfect first time. Very good water flow, better than I expected. The only funny thing is that it "ticks/beeps" every second. No too bad, but loud enough you can hear it if the house is quiet. No problem as I just removed the battery and wrote on my calendar to replace filters in 6 months. Great unit and well worth the price for nice clean drinking water. May 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Good and No Aftertaste I installed this under cabinet water filtration system to replace one that attached to the facet. It was easy to install the dual filter system under my sink. I needed a second pair of hands to install the tap to make sure it was straight. The only thing missing was a socket wrench to tighten the bolt under the sink (other faucet products usually come with one that fits their bolt). I like the fact that filter has an alarm to signal when to change the filters. I let the water run for 10 minutes as indicated to clear the carbon. Afterwards, I tasted the water and it tasted fine with no aftertaste. August 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshing water! This filtering system replaces an old one, it takes up less room and provides great filtered water. I opted to have a plumber install it. The directions were not as easy as some reviews stated. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Changed the amount of water we drink This system has been just wonderful. We have awful water where I live. Tastes terrible, stains clothes, makes our dishes smell like the river, it's just gross. Who wants to drink that? I was really excited about trying this. This system installed in about a half an hour, and needed no special tools and was very simple. I opted to drill a hole in my sink to mount the faucet rather than use the hole for my hose sprayer and lose it. The water tastes great! (More importantly, my coffee tastes better) And it looks great! It is pretty slow, though. But that's to be expected with a 1/4" line. September 5, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fairly easy installation I have the under counter two-unit and I'm not really satisfied with the quality of the water this unit produces. The water here in Santa Barbara is quite hard and might work better in an area with softer water. The water tastes okay but when I brew a tea bag in the microwave, an unsightly scum develops on top. Then after the tea sets in the cup for an hour or two, it's cloudy. Guess I should have gone for a more expensive, better filtering unit. March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great little water filter system I installed this in no time under the sink in my camp trailer. I never liked the taste of the tank water before, and we always bought bottled water for camping. With this, it takes all of the plastic taste out of the tank water, and it tastes great. I wonder why I never thought of this before. I think I will drain the filters and let them dry for the winter storage months, but I can see that this is a definite upgrade for the camping season. It fit under the sink and was easy to install. It only took me about 35 mins. November 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My filter was installed by a professional plumber who felt it was extremely slow. Cannot tell yet how effective it will be. A faster output would be better. November 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tastes good I live in an area with good water so I can not complain. the aquasana two stage delivers good tasting water. the only complaint Is that the flow rate at the Fawcett is dismal. it take several minutes to fill a carafe for dinner. this could also be due to the low water pressure in the main line. The unit produces good tasting water and I can not complain. April 8, 2014
