I checked the installation instructions that came with my unit and have copied them below. Essentially the tank itself is warranted for 6 - years from installation with other parts warranted for 1 year from the date of install. It appears they may have had an issue with tank leakage.
Perhaps they have changed the warranty for the other, non-tank related parts, in the newer models since I cannot find any information that indicates a 2 year warranty.
The installation instructions are available from the description page on the Home Depot site for this item as a PDF download that will give you this information. This from the installation booklet (which is the same as what I see in the HD website):
WARRANTY PERIOD
1. The inner Tank - If the inner tank leaks within
six (6) years from the date of original installation
of the water heater, because of a defect in
material or workmanship, BOSCH will furnish
to such Owner a new heater of the then
prevailing comparable model.
2. Any Component Part Other than The
Original Inner Tank - If any component part
(other than the inner tank) proven to be
defective in material or workmanship within one
(1) year from the date of original installation of
the water heater, BOSCH will furnish the
Owner with replacement of the defective part(s).
3. Verification of Date of Original Installation
- When Owner cannot verify or document the
original date of installation, the warranty period
begins on the date of manufacture marked on
the tag affixed to the water heater.
I haven't had it installed for even a year, as yet, so I cannot testify to how the unit holds up under the test of time, but I will say that I am very pleased with the heater and it really does exceed my expectations.
I hope this helps. Read Less

Answer:
the problem you are getting into is much bigger and it will take 2 elements to heat it. with that said most 2 element tanks are 220 for that reason. you can put 2 of these units in near where they will be used that way if you have 2 showers hook each to a shower and have the surplus go to the rest of the area you want to cover.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performs as intended...saves time & water...thus money Since our hot water heater is located at the very back of the house, we were wasting a lot of water waiting for the hot water to reach the kitchen sink. I contacted Home Depot, and one of their experts suggested I purchase a mini-electric water heater. He had the necessary hardware waiting for me at the service desk when I got there. The heater fit under the sink where the dishwasher used to be & plugged in,& to the existing 120V outlet Installation took about 30 min...& the wife is thrilled at the waiting time & the water is actually hotter than the existing hot water heater... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Compact Water Heater! I was looking for a water heater to use for a couple of sinks in a shop. I knew that I didn't want a conventional tank type water heater. I really didn't want to pay to heat water 24/7 in large quantities just so I could wash my hands with warm water. I came across this water heater and after reading the specs on it, I figured it was just what I needed. It has a small reserve of hot water (6 gallons) that is perfect for my needs. It heats water very fast when needed. With straight forward installation instructions and 2 different installation options, it made installing it where I needed it a breeze. Its compact size was also a plus. The controls are easy to read and the LED light showing when it is on is easy to see. It has been installed for about a month and has performed flawlessly. If you need a point of use water heater, I would totally recommend this product. January 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good deal this is a good little booster to my existing hot water heater. The main unit is in my basement but hot water took forever, if ever, to get upstairs. So installed this device on my upstairs level laundry room-now hot water is immediate in my two second level bathrooms and my washing machine. The complaint now is no truly cold water, but family members do not want go back without it. The installation requires electrical knowledge and plumbing skills-cutting a pcv pipe and putting on plumbers putty. Small but if you want to install under sink, it better be a big cabinet. Home Depot bought and delievered as promised-would I do it again, yes September 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by adequite product for this application would have given ease of installation an easy but required hardwire of electrical, so you need a qualified electrician involved. wall hanger is a bit questionable but holds. have to set temp. setting higher than optimal to get reasonably hot water at faucet (some 8 feet of 3/4" pipe away). nice appearance and contained in one unit. prefer it if estetics is a must. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't last long Unit corroded out after only 5 years. Bosch would not cover it under warranty because the anode was not changed yearly. I have a whole house that has lasted 18 years without an anode change. It suggests quality of parts is poor.Very disappointed in the product and support. September 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to install and use. I installed this water heater in my travel trailer was a cheep alternative to the RV water heaters and it works great from cold to hot in 45 min. July 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Versitile point of use electric water heater This is my third 6 gal. heater. The first two developed tank leaks after less than 2 years. My fault, should have changed the anode sooner. The anode relieves the steel tank from the ravages of corrosion and is itself consumed over time. However, the anode in these units is very inadequate and should be checked/changed every 6 months, not 1-2 years as the manual and the instructions on the unit advise. Buy extra anodes and gaskets when you purchase this unit, they are easy to change. This version of the 6 gal heater required hard wiring. The previous two came with a wire and plug. The manual recommends 12 ga. wiring on a 20 amp circuit which provides a good margin of safety. However, out of curiosity, I cut the wire off the unit I was replacing and discovered the manufacturer used 16 ga. wire. Not exactly quality or safety minded. How much more money would have it cost the manufacturer to use even 14 ga. wire? So I'm happy to install my own 12 ga. wiring for this unit simply for the safety factor. In full disclosure, I use these heaters in my horse barn. It is so handy to have hot water on demand for a wide variety of tasks including baths in warm weather. Bottom line though I would be willing to pay more for a better constructed unit that I didn't have to replace every 1-2 years but this seems to be the best I can get in a small capacity heater. As far as improving this heater, the manufacturer should equip it with a larger anode. January 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peerfect little water heater This 7 gal water heater is great for the washer in my garage. The water heater heats fast and hold the heat for a long time. It was easy to install with no leaks and I like the heating indicator light, free shipping is also a plus. June 20, 2013
