Customer Questions & Answers

How much time does it take to assemble?

The research I have found on this shed is conflicting. Some say it is a two day project. Others say it is a one day project. All say it requires two people for at least part of the time. Does the manufacturer have a general assembly time they predict?

Is this shed water proof? Can I store papers in the shed

If you carefully fitted a heavy-duty green tarp across the top, it would never leak. I keep animal feed in mine, and have no problems.

Newport 8 ft. x 6 ft. Steel Shed is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 304.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what any home needs The shed is fantastic for its size. Utilizing other shelving Home Depot sells I made this shed seem larger than some of the 8x10's I've dealt with previously and I still have room to fill and walk around my lawn tools. I have the storage I need while leaving myself ample garage space and spare parking with this stylish addition to my lot. Even better the shed colors accent my home.

A smaller shed would have worked better with the space I had but I just couldn't justify spending almost $200 for a shed that is smaller. Very happy with this shed though. It blocks my trash cans from sight when in the backyard and the extra space is awesome. I did not know it came with the floor kit so that was a nice surprise. Having assembled one of these in the past I already knew what was in store. It really isn't too bad if you take your time to think it through and understand what step you are on. I would set aside at least 6 hours to get this project done if you are good at putting things together. I was able to assemble almost everything on my own only needing the wife's help twice at just five minutes each time. When finishing the roof along the edges where you screw the roof into the top of the walls, some of the holes were off almost a half inch (probably due to my error) was too far to try to pull the pieces together but I just drilled a couple new pilot holes and everything worked fine. Cutting the ply wood for the floor was super easy the instruction say exactly what to measure and cut there is no guessing what so ever. The plywood was an extra $20 a sheet and you will need 2 sheets. Plus some dry wall screws. After tax plan on spending an extra $50 to get the floor done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great little shed, but definitely not 8x6 ft. This is a great little shed for the amount we paid for it, but I was disappointed that it was definitely not the dimensions that were advertised. It came out to 7'11' x 5'3". Now, 7'11" I can handle, that's pretty close. But 5'3"? That's nearly a foot shorter on one end than it was supposed to be. If my spouse and I hadn't spend 12 hours putting it together already, I'd probably take it back. Really frustrating, and some of the things we were going to put in it aren't going to fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little shed! This is a great little shed for the money! Very easy to put together. I put it together by myself. My ground was far from level so I had to get a little creative with concrete blocks. The directions were very simple with pictures and 'parts needed' for each section clearly stated. All parts are numbered. Lots of extra screws, nuts, bolts & washers too. There are some nice grooves inside the wall for you to run the cable to anchor it and building the floor was also pretty easy. The frame is included. My shed has been up for some months now and been thru some windy, wet & snowy weather with no problems at all. I highly recommend it for anyone that needs that little bit of extra space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Arrow Storage Shed This is probably a little to early to rate this product as its only been built for 2 days so to be fair the only things I can properly comment on is the building process and the quality of materials used in manufacturing the shed. Building it is a bit of a nightmare as they use very tiny screws and bolts and an extraordinary amount of them, the installation instructions are a bit confusing. The materials they use are very thin and seem a bit weak even after being built. But with all that said I purchased it because it was the right size and really cheap. I hope it keeps the water out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storage shed It took me about 8 hours to put the 6x8 ft. Shed together I was going to hire Home Depot to do it, but they were going to charge me more than I purchased the shed for. Shed $218.00 Home Depot price to install $360.00. I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shed, good price. This is a good shed, especially for the price. My dad and I put it up in one day after having created a base to level it the previous day. As long as you have a level surface to build it on, follow directions closely, and periodically stop to make sure that the building is square as it comes together it should go up really easily. It's also light enough that if you wanted to you could build it one place- say your driveway - close to tools and in a level spot, and then move it with two or three people to wherever you want. I would definitely recommend this shed
