Answer:
The film actually clings to the glass rather than being glued down. While it is durable, stays put very nicely and is easy to reposition if needed, being continually jumped on by puppy paws and their toe nails may result in scratches or eventually even tears.

Answer:
Artscape films are much thicker than our competitors so that should help it from a durability standpoint. With that being said I do think over time the dog scratching at the door will eventually break the film down and you'll see very noticeable scratches.

It is a plastic film and I would think your dogs nails might rip it.

It is pretty thick stuff, but I think the dogs claws, over time, could ruin it.

Yes. I used this film in my sunroom and I think it is wonderful. I was able to cut it to the exact size and applied it with no difficulty at all. It is much easier to apply than other window film.

Answer:
Yes, it would work on a large mirror or any glass like surface. It is a no fail product in the sense that if you don't like the result, you simply take it off and try again. You can even reuse pieces you've already cut as my coworker discovered when he used some of the 'discards' on his office windows.

We have skylights that we're trying to cover, but don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for custom blinds. Would these block some of the light, or just provide a frosted look?

Answer:
Absolutely. But it's intended to say where you put it, whereas blinds can easily be opened, closed and raised as desired.

36 in. x 72 in. Etched Glass Decorative Window Film is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 95.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works, looks great! We installed this on our clear shower doors to provide some level of privacy. As others have stated, follow the instructions and be patient! The end results are awesome! I've included before / after photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be careful not to get any water or sweat on it! I love the look of the etched glass. It isn't to difficult to cut (I used metal ruler straight edge and a craft knife). It does curl so you need measurements ready when you lay it out to cut. A few drops dripped onto the paper as I was cutting. This caused the paper to stick and make a permanent white spot on it. This was installed in the bathroom, and covered with a lace shade and curtains so the spots aren't obvious. It only happened with my first cut price. I flipped it over so the plastic side was up so didn't have to worry about it. I used this in the bathroom before and it lasted years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from After extra work it worked out You have to peel the paper away from the etched film to them apply to area needed. 75% of the paper came off like normal. But the 25% that wouldn't peel was a nightmare to get off the film. I had to use the soapy water and press extremely hard with my thumb to rub it away. After what should of taken 20 minutes to install it took over an hour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Window film So easy to apply and looks very nice. I put this on the windows in my piano room so I could have the light without having the damaging UV rays on my piano.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and Effective This is a sturdy product that is easy to cut and apply. Perfect for any space where you need light as well as privacy, Be sure to have a square handy (for 90 degree cuts) as well as the spray and smoothing tools. My only wish is that the paper had pre-printed lines at, say, 1/2" increments which would make measuring and cutting go more quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works so well and easy to install Installed this 3 months ago, and the film is still secure and not peeling at the corners. I followed the video on this site, and it was super easy. Regarding privacy... I purchased it to put on the decorative windows at the top of my front door. If you stepped right up to one side of the door and looked it, you would blurrily make out anything DIRECTLY to the other side of the screen. However, anything a few feet away is almost impossible to make out. Since nothing sits DIRECTLY on the other side of my door, it works perfect for my needs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 8 months in shower, still looks perfect! I hate frosted windows but had windows in both my bathroom showers on the first floor. This was the perfect solution. I waited to write this review to see how it held up. After daily use in our master bathroom shower for the last 8 months, it looks just like the day it was installed. After using this, I will never buy frosted windows again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Privacy and Good Looks The etching film was very easy to install and gives privacy where needed. The only drawback is that outlines and blurred figures are visible if they stand within 2 feet of the window. For example, in my bathroom where I used the product, the toilet is right next to the large window so anyone using the toilet can be seen. However, the rest of the bathroom beyond that point is totally private.
