Answer:
Artscape films are much thicker than our competitors so that should help it from a durability standpoint. With that being said I do think over time the dog scratching at the door will eventually break the film down and you'll see very noticeable scratches.

It is a plastic film and I would think your dogs nails might rip it.

I live on the shady side - at street level - so I'm just trying to get some privacy. Will this product deflect the little sunlight I get and starve my plants? Thanks

Answer:
Etched Glass will allow a lot of natural light into the house because of its light color and at the same time give you the privacy you want. It will not block the rays that give nutrition to your plants, they will be fine.

Answer:
that would probably depend upon the sensitivity of your plants. The film does let some light through but you would have your privacy.

Yes. I used this film in my sunroom and I think it is wonderful. I was able to cut it to the exact size and applied it with no difficulty at all. It is much easier to apply than other window film.

Looking for decorative but total privacy. Can large shapes, such as a car, be made out at point blank range? What about if you were to shine a light through it? Thanks.

Answer:
My experience is that you can only see about a foot beyond the film when you have your face up into it. And thats not very clear at all. Some designs are more opaque than others. At 5 or 6 feet, I dont think you can see anything really, at least not with the type I got. Go to the store and you should be able to find some of the types as samples and test it for yourself. Thats what I did.

Answer:
Etched Glass has the most amount of privacy among our neutral designs. In natural light, Etched Glass makes objects that are 4-5 feet away virtually unidentifiable. If the garage is dark it would help keep intruders from seeing the contents. A flashlight would reflect off the film and make it difficult to see inside, though the ambient light might reveal color and approximate size of the object.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 84 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works so well and easy to install Installed this 3 months ago, and the film is still secure and not peeling at the corners. I followed the video on this site, and it was super easy. Regarding privacy... I purchased it to put on the decorative windows at the top of my front door. If you stepped right up to one side of the door and looked it, you would blurrily make out anything DIRECTLY to the other side of the screen. However, anything a few feet away is almost impossible to make out. Since nothing sits DIRECTLY on the other side of my door, it works perfect for my needs July 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by After 8 months in shower, still looks perfect! I hate frosted windows but had windows in both my bathroom showers on the first floor. This was the perfect solution. I waited to write this review to see how it held up. After daily use in our master bathroom shower for the last 8 months, it looks just like the day it was installed. After using this, I will never buy frosted windows again. May 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Easy to Apply Product is of high quality. Thickness is just right, easy to cut, very easy to apply to windows. I wanted a product that would be removable and this one is. No glue involved. Wonderful privacy, yet let's the light through. I will be purchasing more of this. The price is a little steep for my pocketbook, but I believe the product is worth the price. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to Apply Difficult to Master I really, really like this product. I found it super easy to work with. Like with all manner of films, there is a slight learning curve in finding the best method(s) for getting rid of all the bubles...and just when you think you got them all one or two mysteriously show up! Frustrating but hardly a deal breaker as it has more to do with the person performing the application versus the product. I will say that while the model I purchased was frosted, it is hardly opaque. In fact, when within 3-4 inches of the film/glass it is pretty darned transparent. Not a real problem other than they don't do a good enough job with the product description to help you know what you are getting. Overall, I recommend this product for beginners and hard core weekend designers. You can customize your look with this product as what's possible is only limited by your imagination and ability to execute it. The product delivers on its promise of being relatively easy to apply, remove and reapply as needed. It looks good and if you succeed in getting all the air bubbles out (a job for your OCD moments) it will look professionally applied without ruining your windows for life. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what was needed! Installed the "etched glass" film on our rv plexiglass shower doors. Turned out great! March 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DIY Den Window Our den window faces our neighbors ugly side of the house where the air conditioning unit is. Not exactly a pretty sight. This product works great to allow lots of filtered natural sunlight but block the ugly view.Went up very easy in about 30 minutes. June 25, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Privacy film not private at night I thought this film would provide privacy for our bathroom. It does during the day but at night with a light on it is almost transparent for objects within a few feet of the window! July 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Etched Glass It worked as it said it would - Follow the installation directions and you too will be happy with the result. July 12, 2016
