I love this stain. It goes on somewhat thick to give great protection, and I can almost feel it seeping into my old wood. I did the balusters a couple of years ago, and they still look freshly painted. This year I did the floor, and given the age of the wood, it really made such a huge difference.

If you follow the directions on the can you will be impressed. Excellent coverage very forgiving not watery like regular stains this acts more like paint than stain

I just was wondering if anyone else had this happen with the Atlantic or if they mixed it wrong? I am posting the picture of the sample compared to what came out when I painted my siding.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rpredoli Great for cedar fences!
We chose the terra cotta color for this paint and I used an airless paint sprayer to do my entire backyard wood fence. One coat coverage and the look is fantastic! Just like I have a new fence. The paint penetrated the wood quickly, dried quickly, and still let the wood grain come through.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Andre This 10 year paint lasts 1 year maybe 2 before it needs to be redone on deck floor.
This 10 year paint lasts 1 year maybe 2 before it needs to be redone on deck floor. I had this paint professionally applied on a deck that gets average use in the summertime. 4 parties a year.. Memorial day, Labor day and 2 or so cocktail parties a summer. The deck looked good the first year summer (the paint was applied that spring). Over that winter the deck floor paint started chipping and pealing.
By the time the second summer started the deck needed to be redone. However I put off redoing the deck that year. Now its the spring of 3rd year and the deck is missing at lease 20% of the over 625sq feet of floor and horizontal railing coverage due to chipping and pealing. Just know if you use this paint you will have to redo your deck every other year. If you want the deck to look good every year you will have to redo the deck every year.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by derputz Color is not true
No complaints on the quality of the product. Goes on smooth and covers very well. Maybe a little too well for some. This IS their “solid color” version. It looks a bit more like paint than stain. We live in Georgia and it was HOT this weekend. The can says use only up to 90 degrees. Believe them. This is a fast drying product (advantage), but when the temp goes over 90 your brushes, pads, paint trays, etc. will start to dry up. Plan your day accordingly. My only complaint is the color. Not true to any of their illustrations. Not as shown on the web page and not as shown on the sales brochure I picked up. Attached is a picture of our completed railing around the lower patio. Lucky me I started here instead of on our large, elevated deck. Finished a quarter of it and wife said, “It’s ORANGE”. Next quarter, she said “It’s OK, I guess”. Third quarter, “It’s OK, I guess”. Finished it and she said, “No, I hate it. It’s ORANGE!”. The picture is taken at noon, camera in the shade, shooting into the sunny railing. The picture is true to color. This color is NOT as Behr shows it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Angel Absolutely LOVE it!
This stuff is amazing. We are redoing some very thirsty, old wood siding that was once red. Tugboat Brown Solid has went over this beautifully. I was really concerned that some of the old red stain might show through, and since the texture is so rough there was no way to sand or scrape. But things are "A" ok. After a good pressure washing, we have applied this and it looks GREAT!
Because our wood was so thirsty, I'm finding that I needed more than what the website recommends. No worries, two more gallons is a breeze, and with as great as it looks, I really don't mind spending the money. :) So pleased.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bstnh1 Best stain & paint out there~
I've used Behr stains and paints for many years and have never been disappointed. Most recently put on a coat of weatherproofing solid, Cape Cod Grey, on a 12x12 shed sided with all wood T1-11. Rolled it on with a 3/8 roller and it worked well even on the rough T1-11. Used this same stain and same color on a similar shed I built about 12 years ago. One coat and it still looks great! I've been around quite a while and believe me over the years I've tried just about every paint and stain made and nothing beats Behr products - not even close!
