Answer:
Hello Kel,
Great question. Normally to remove our stain we recommend using our Behr Premium Wood Stain & Finish Stripper No. 64. However, that would remove the paint underneath as well if those surfaces were previously painted. Another option would to lightly sand off the semi-transparent stain.
Best regards,
Kevin

Hello candy,
Great question. Yes, the color SC-140 Bright Tamra is available in our regular paints. You can just provide your local Home Depot paint associate with the color I.D (SC-140) and color name (Bright Tamra).
Best regards,
Kevin

Answer:
Hello Wong,
We appreciate your question. No, our wood stains like this one are only designed for exterior use. If needing a semi-transparent wood stain and not a solid color floor paint like our Porch & Patio Floor paint, then you might check with Home Depot for another brand's coating that could work for your project. Best wishes!

Hello Sandy,
Thank you for your interest in our products. If some parts of the fence are darker than others, then you might still be able to see the different shades once our Semi-Transparent stain is applied since are stain is designed to have transparency. I would suggest our Solid Color Weatherproofing All-In-One Wood Stain & Sealer. Each 5 gallon pail covers about 1250-1500 square feet for 1 coat. Read More

1-gal. #ST-137 Drift Gray Semi-Transparent Weatherproofing Wood Stain is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 422.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great UV performance I have used this product several times now. Enclosed is a picture from my own cca 20 years old red wood deck. I applied one layer of a forest green semitransparent color. I had read negative reviews regarding this product but I do believe that peeling only happens when the surface is not prepared right or when the product is not applied correctly. This is a water based stain with a waterproofing agent in it. It must be applied like stain - I use much more rubbing/brushing than with paints. The surface must be very clean and ideally sanded in order to allow for the wood to suck up the stain. Water based products dry very fast and rubbing/brushing is important to encourage absorption into the wood rather than letting it dry on the surface like paint. I do have a negative experience with two coats with this product compare to one. The problem is that the first coat, because it has waterproofing, does not allow the second coat to soak in. It only thickness the top layer and tends to peel. The product, compare to oil products, is very color stable and does not fade with UV light. The color adjusted (faded) cca 15% after 4 years on my previous application, which is very impressive. Oil products usually fade almost completely after two years on decking in California. The deck in the picture was pressure washed then sanded down. three rotten board were replaced completely. No cleaning product was used in order to preserve the dark color of the sanded red wood (the washing products tend to lighten the wood) for the semi transparent effect. Although the green is an unusual color (very different from the wood shade), the deck has a very uniformed look even with the new boards (hard to tell which once are new). I would recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coats wood like paint, takes over a week to dry. I purchased this "premium" product to put on my 3 year old construction heart redwood deck based on positive reviews and the display at my local Home Depot and have been extremely disappointed in the quality and appearance of the finished product. The stain does not go on evenly, does not penetrate the wood at all, and remains tacky and unpleasant feeling far past the 72 hour cure time listed on the can. Before applying the stain I used the Behr Premium 1-gal. Wood Stain and Finish Stripper, then used the Behr Premium 1-gal. All-In-One Wood Cleaner, and followed up by using an orbital sander to lightly sand the surface to prep it for the stain. I did everything according to the instructions on the bottles and used all Behr Premium products because I wanted to do it right and not skip any steps. I applied the stain using a high-quality Home Depot-branded roller and used Shur-Line foam pads for touch-up and small areas where the roller could not reach. I applied two coats of the stain, early in the morning and in the late afternoon, using a digital surface-read thermometer to make sure that the deck surface was within the appropriate temperature range for applying the stain. The finished product is AWFUL. Even after doing all the suggested prep work using all Behr Premium products the "stain" applies unevenly and sits on top of the wood like a latex paint. It has been more than 5 days of sunny Summer weather since I applied the last coat and the deck is still tacky to the touch and will not fully dry. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this product, and would not suggest ANY of the Behr Premium deck products. Since it did not penetrate the wood and is still tacky after a week I expect it to start peeling within 1-2 years and need replacement far ahead of the "6 Year Satisfaction Guarantee."

Rated 2 out of 5 by from One year wonder I researched the heck out of this. Used to use Cabot, but they changed the stain. I always prep my deck carefully, and did so this time as well. Had perfect weather to apply. After a very mild winter in SW Connecticut, its peeling already. At least I didnt waste my time putting it on my other decks....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shade I ended up using two coats for my pallet project. One coat worked well, you could still see the grain of the wood, but I wanted my project brighter so did two coats. Got the sample size and still have some left over. Its a great deal!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!!! If you want to ruin your beautiful wood deck use this product. Always tacky never dries. I wish i could remove it but it sticks to the wood like GLUE and feels like GLUE. THIS IS NOT A STAIN IT IS A PAINT!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid at all costs So far I've applied this twice this spring. The first time I sprayed it on and it never cured (even after weeks it was sticky). I was told I must have over applied and should strip it and start over . After striping, cleaning and prepping again I applied two thin coats with a brush to the specifications on the can. Again I'm left with a very sticky deck. Now I've spent over $200 just to make my deck unusable. I can't describe how disappointing and discouraging this has been. I'm an avid DIYer and this is easily the worst product I've ever used. I wish I would have read more reviews before purchasing. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's orange From the name and the sample I assumed I would be painting my porch I shade of red But it went on Laurens it also took more than a week to completely dry in my porch felt tacky the whole time. I'm not in love with the color but am not displeased enough to restrain the porch. This product does not cover as well as it states. What should have taken less than 2 gallons required 4. It also did not go on evenly. Some portions of my deck are a different texture and color. It almost looks chalky in spots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 4 Months later, wood is absorbing water I applied this on my deck, about 25 years old. The deck was previously coated with a waterproofing product from a different manufacturer. I saw the advertisements for Behr having longer durability than others, and I decided to give it a try. 4 months later, rain water is not beading, but appears to be soaking into the wood. I used it according to instructions, the old clear waterproofing product was off, and no water was beading on the deck. Applied two coats of this product, used just about as much as is suggested based on the square footage for my deck, so I assume the thickness of the application was was at least in the right ballpark. I should add that the deck is barely used. We use our screened in porch, and the deck is next to it, but I only go out there to use the grill, even though that part of the deck is quite large. I think the color of the product is amazing - the deck looks spectacular. The only thing is that it doesn't appear to be 'weather proofing' the wood.
