Answer:
Hello Bmw9,
Thanks for your support of Behr products. For light dirt stains, we recommend using soap and water. If it's more difficult to clean, then there's the option to use a concrete cleaner/degreaser (even for wood surfaces). Be sure to test out the cleaner first to ensure it's working. Well wishes for your project!

Hi Kallen!
Thanks for writing in with your question. I'd definitely recommend stirring the paint for a good five minutes; this will allow all the solids to blend together. Hope this helps! Best, Jeanette P.

Can this product be used on an epoxy pebble-coat finish on a patio?

We have a concrete patio/pool deck that was covered with an epoxy mixture of aggregate pebbles about 20 years ago. Several areas of the pebble finish have broken away. We would like to patch them by troweling in a new mixture of pebbles, but the new colors don't match. So, after patching the holes, we would like to paint this product over the top for a uniform appearance. Would it work?

1-gal. #SC-101 Atlantic Wood and Concrete Coating is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 1310.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from totally peeling in one year it was not easy to apply. Basically you had to "slather it" on . it did not work well with brush or roller and it was tough to get an even coat. it looked pretty good for almost one year but not it it is pealing badly and my deck looks terrible. I'm not sure what to do because if i paint over it, that will just peel away also. So unless I want to strip the whole thing, or build a new deck, I have a peeling ugly deck

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst paint ever Worst paint I ever used. Started peeling in 1 year and by the 2nd year it is peeling all over. I can blow some off with my leaf blower. I would remove all of it but you don't make a product to remove it. I guess I'm just stuck with peeling paint for years to come. Thanks for such a terrible product. An avid Behr paint user.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware, poor product followed the instruction exactly, had to use two cans for a 10 x13 deck. the stuff is so thick. when I was finally finished it looked great, 4 months later and the paint is faded and gone in so many spots. won't buy this again. buyer beware

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money and your time After sanding deck down to bare wood and following all recommended prep work, applied Deck Over and it looked great initially. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the first winter. In formulating this product, Behr did not consider the natural freeze/thaw cycle of the underlying wood. Began to hear load "bangs" during the night as winter temps fell. Soon realized that this noise was the paint separating from the wood in sheets. By spring, deck looked terrible. Will never use again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terribly Disappointed I had high hopes for this product because of the Behr name and a recommendation by a friend. When I saw how thick it was, I figured it would probably be very durable and last. Unfortunately, it didn't last. I applied it in July 2015 and by September it was starting to peel. I planned to touch up those spots this spring but spring has come and it's worse than ever. We plan to get regular stain and cover those spots, but there will be a huge difference in texture and I guess that the Deckover will continue to peel. I would not use this again and I sure wouldn't recommend it. (And we followed the directions to the letter!) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your receipt for the warranty claim This product looked great when first applied July 2015 and did the trick preventing splinters from the old deck wood, but after a pretty mild Ontario winter, it's peeling off in random places. It's become brittle and separated from the wood. I contacted Behr and they are providing me with replacements, so I've been trying to get the deck ready to re-do it. Sanding doesn't really get it off, only a scraper or a hose. It's like peeling off sunburned skin. And now my gardens are full of bits of it. Such a huge job, and I guess I'll have to do it again next year. I'm amazed they still sell this product. Save your receipt for the warranty claim.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Peeling We have put Deck Over on our deck several times, the old part looks pretty nice, but the new part, we have had to replace it twice because of the peeling. The last time we have used stripping, power washed, plus used a sander, still can't get all of the old off. Ugh. Behr has been giving us suggestion, which we do appreciate, just frustrating that it seems we are doing this every year. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wasted money Cleaned power washed my deck Last May 2015 waited a week before I painted the deck with the first coat of deck over grey. Waited a week and cleaned and placed on my second coat. It is now April 2016 and the paint is chipping off. The deck was only used by me and my dogs . Now I have to redo the deck again. What a waste of time and good hard earned money. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
